Aggressive driving behavior refers to the behavior that the driver consciously causes physical, psychological and emotional harm to others in the process of driving the vehicle.Research shows that aggressive driving has become one of the main factors leading to traffic safety accidents.Exploring the influencing factors of aggressive driving behavior,so as to inhibit the occurrence of aggressive driving,is of great significance to improve road traffic safety. This study takes Chinese drivers as the research object, investigates the current situation of aggressive driving in China, and tries to explore the potential complex psychological mechanism behind aggressive driving based on social cognitive attribution theory and general attack model,so as to provide theoretical support for promoting the safe and orderly development of transportation in China. In this study, drivers in Shanghai,Jiangsu,Sichuan and Jiangxi were investigated by electronic questionnaire. The questionnaire was composed of demographic information, hostility attribution bias scale, driving anger scale, impulsive trait(BIS-11)scale and aggressive driving behavior scale.A total of 558 valid data were collected.SPSS software and PROCESS macro program were used for descriptive analysis and structural equation model test to explore the current situation of aggressive driving in China and the direct and indirect impact of hostile attribution bias on aggressive driving behavior. The main results are as follows:1.The total score of aggressive driving behavior of drivers in China is lower than the middle level, and the proportion of highly aggressive drivers is relatively low,and the overall situation is relatively good.2.There are significant differences in gender and driving age between driving anger and aggressive driving behavior. The specific manifestations are as follows:Men’s driving anger is significantly lower than women, but aggressive driving is significantly higher than men;The level of driving anger and aggressive driving behavior of drivers with more than 8 years of driving age was significantly higher than that of drivers with less than 3 years of driving age.3.Hostility attribution bias can significantly positively predict and explain driving anger and aggressive driving behavior.4.The mediating effect test shows that driving anger plays a partial mediating role in the impact of hostile attribution bias on aggressive driving behavior.5.The moderating effect test shows that impulsivity and its dimensions play a moderating role in the impact of driving anger on aggressive driving behavior.Behavioral impulsivity plays a more unique role in the inhibition of aggressive driving. When the driver’s level of behavioral impulsivity is low, driving anger will not significantly predict aggressive driving behavior.
