Hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber(HNBR)has excellent oil resistance,high temperature resistance and aging resistance,etc.It is widely used in petroleum exploration industry,machinery manufacturing industry and automobile industry,etc.The most important feature of HNBR is the contradiction of oil resistance and low temperature resistance.In this paper,HNBR is modified by chemical grafting and physical blending methods.The main research work as follows.1.The grafting method was used to study the grafting modification of HNBR with different chain lengths of vinyl ether flexible monomers.The molecular structure of grafted HNBR and the effect of different chain lengths of flexible monomers on the grafting of HNBR were investigated by 1H-NMR,FT-IR,GPC and DSC test methods,and the grafting rate up to 7.2% was obtained.The heat resistance,oil resistance and mechanical properties of grafted HNBR vulcanizates were investigated.The grafted dodecyl vinyl ether monomer(DVE)had the best low-temperature modification effect.The HNBR-g-DVE vulcanizates maintained good mechanical properties and good oil resistance and low-temperature resistance.2.Ternary esterification polycondensation reaction of hydrogenated terminal hydroxy liquid nitrile rubber(HHTBN),sebacic acid(SA)and polytetrahydrofuran(PTMG)was carried out.The effects of the ternary monomer ratios and the polycondensation process on the molecular weight of the polymers were investigated.The effects of ternary polycondensation ratio and molecular weight on the glass transition temperature of the products were analyzed by 1H-NMR,FT-IR,GPC and DSC characterization to prepare low-temperature resistant ternary zwitterions.3.The solution blending method was used to blend HHTBN-SAPTMG terpolymer with HNBR with different hydrogenation degree and acrylonitrile content.The effects of HNBR hydrogenation degree,acrylonitrile content and the amount of HHTBN-SA-PTMG terpolymer on the low-temperature resistance of the blended rubber were investigated.The low temperature resistance,mechanical properties and oil resistance of HNBR/HHTBN-SA-PTMG and HNBR/PTMG vulcanized rubber were investigated.
