With the release of the 14 th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People’s Republic of China and the Outline of 2035 Vision Goals,the positioning of urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River has been upgraded to the same level as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Yangtze River Delta.The urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River have welcomed a new opportunity of in-depth integrated development.Under the joint guidance of "No large-scale development" and the concept of "Two Mountains",it is particularly important for the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River to support the most beneficial development of the economy and society with the minimum consumption of land resources,and we ought to ensure the sustainable development of the ecosystem while making more scientific,reasonable,and efficient use of limited land.Under the concept of sustainable development perspective to study urban agglomeration in the middle reach of Yangtze River city land use efficiency system coordinated with coupling between ecological benefits performance system,it is conducive to provides a new train of thought for regional land use and ecological environment coordinated development,also provides reference for the coupling study of urban land use and ecological welfare in other urban agglomerations.Taking 28 cities urban agglomeration in the middle reach of Yangtze River as an example,based on the three dimensions of urban agglomerations,sub-urban agglomerations and single cities,this paper selects a 16-year time section from 2004 to2019 to carry out the research.Firstly,land use efficiency and ecological welfare performance index systems are constructed from the input-output level,respectively.The time-varying characteristics and spatial pattern of land use efficiency and ecological welfare performance in the study area are analyzed by means of fixed-base entropy method and transcendental logarithmic stochastic frontier analysis model.Then,the coupling coordination model of deviation coefficient,standard deviation ellipse and Arc GIS visualization tools are used to analyze the spatial-temporal pattern changes and characteristics of the coupling degree and coordination degree of the two systems in the study area.Finally,based on coupling coordination degree evaluation,the introduction of the geographical probe model and Arc GIS natural breakpoint method in the study area during different periods,two different regions of the driving mechanism and function of system coupling coordination mechanism is analyzed.On this basis,countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to promote the coupling and coordination of urban land use efficiency and ecological welfare performance of urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River to achieve regional coordination and high-quality sustainable development of urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.The empirical analysis results show that:1)The urban land use efficiency of urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River from 2004 to 2019 is generally high,the quality of development is constantly improving,and the use efficiency of labor,capital and other input factors is relatively high,with an average of 0.7435 in 2016,and there is still 23.35% room for improvement.The spatial distribution of land use efficiency in the study area is unbalanced,with obvious temporal and spatial evolution differentiation.There is heterogeneity in the level of land use efficiency in the three urban agglomerations,and the overall regional difference is "Poyang Lake urban agglomeration > ChangshaZhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration > Wuhan metropolitan area".The three suburban agglomerations of Hubei and Hunan respectively take Wuhan-Jingzhou city,Changsha-Changde City,Yichun-Ji ’an-Shangrao city as the high-value agglomeration center and spread to the surrounding area,with significant spatial effect.2)The urban ecological welfare performance of the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River from 2004 to 2019 is in the initial stage,and the overall trend is gradually increasing year by year,and there is still great room for the efficient utilization of resources and environment.There is heterogeneity in the ecological welfare performance levels of the three major urban agglomerations,which is represented by the spatial differentiation pattern of "urban agglomeration around Chang-Zhu-Tan Province > urban agglomeration around Poyang Lake > urban circle in Wuhan".The value area is concentrated in the provincial capital city and its neighboring cities,and the radiation drives other gradient cities to jump to different degrees.The "three-core" growth poles are intertwined and distributed,and the overall spatial distribution tends to be balanced.3)The coupling level of urban land use efficiency and ecological welfare performance in the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River from 2004 to 2019 was relatively high,and the overall development trend of benign coupling to high-level coupling was shown,and the regional differences in coupling levels were significant.Changsha-Xiangtan,Wuhan-Ezhou and other high-value coupling areas are led by the "three-core" coupling pattern,which is characterized by the evolution of "Wuhan metropolitan area > urban agglomeration around Chang-ZhuTan > urban agglomeration around Poyang Lake" and the difference is gradually increasing Convergence;the overall coordination level of urban land use efficiency and ecological welfare performance shows a trend from barely coordinated development to intermediate coordinated development,with great potential for improvement.The regular characteristics of Hucheng Group>Wuhan Urban Circle" have preliminarily formed a coordinated pattern led by the provincial capital city Nanchang-ChangshaWuhan "three cores".4)The geographic detector model can better reveal the coupling coordination mechanism and dynamic mechanism of land use efficiency and ecological welfare performance in the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River from 2004 to 2019,and has a strong explanatory power for the degree of regional coupling coordination differentiation.During the research period,among the driving factors,the explanatory power of economic development > the explanatory power of social civilization > the explanatory power of natural location,showing the law of economic development as the leading factor,social civilization as the guarantee,and natural location as the basis.During the study period,the dominant driving factors of the coupling and coordination effect of the two systems in different periods and different regions have similarities and differences.The industrial structure and the role of the government in the role of the factors gradually weakened,and the scientific and technological innovation gradually increased.and the nonlinear enhancement effect of "1+1>2".5)Affected by factors such as natural location,economic development and social civilization,the land use efficiency and ecological welfare performance of the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the coupling and coordination of the two systems have always moved within Jiujiang City,and the regional urban land use efficiency and ecological welfare performance.The spatial distribution is relatively stable,and the level of coupling and coordination between the two systems will continue to improve.In order to effectively promote the coordinated and high-quality development of the research area,we should adhere to the "two mountains" and "five major" development concepts,speed up the solution of highquality development problems and resource and environmental coercion bottlenecks,establish and improve government coordination mechanisms and scientific innovation system reforms,and promote efficient land and resources.The utilization and ecological environment are comprehensively improved.
