| Global climate change caused by carbon emissions has become a new game concern for all countries in the world, and in 2021,the United States and the European Union launched the "Global Methane Commitment" signed by 105 countries, which exerts greater external pressure on China.Inner Mongolia, one of the most important livestock production regions in China, has to maintain its growth rate, but is under pressure to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060 as promised by China. How to resolve this contradiction requires finding the root causes of carbon emission generation. Therefore, this study is conducted from the perspective of reducing carbon emissions, summarizing the relevant theories through literature and theoretical analysis as a basis, estimating carbon emissions from the livestock industry from the current development status, and using the LMDI decomposition method and STIRPAT extended model to conduct a progressive analysis of the factors influencing carbon emissions from the livestock industry in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from 2000 to 2019,clarifying the carbon emission factors in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and the following main conclusions were drawn. The carbon emissions from the livestock industry in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region were estimated by the carbon emission coefficient method through direct carbon sources, and the results showed that the total carbon emissions from the livestock industry in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region showed a wave-like increase from 2000 to 2010,while a stable with a slight decrease from2011 to 2019.Carbon emissions from livestock industry mainly originate from cattle and sheep, and the emission share is over 85%.There are large differences in carbon emissions from animal husbandry among Inner Mongolia leagues and cities, with larger emissions in Chifeng,Tongliao,Hulunbeier and Xilin Gol league, and these put different pressures on carbon emission reduction from animal husbandry in Inner Mongolia leagues and cities. The factors influencing the carbon emissions of the livestock industry in Inner Mongolia were effectively analyzed through LMDI decomposition, and it was concluded that the largest incremental effects of carbon emissions from the livestock industry in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from 2000 to 2019 were economic and structural factors, while the largest decremental effects were efficiency factors. These variables were further tested through the STIRPAT extended model as the main factors contributing to the changes in carbon emissions. The most effective way to reduce carbon emissions from livestock industry is to reduce the intensity of carbon emissions from livestock industry is the first choice besides controlling the incremental factors.Pursuing the growth of GDP per capita will cause the rapid increase of carbon emissions in livestock industry in the short term. Therefore,it becomes the main carbon emission reduction strategy to reduce the carbon emission of livestock industry by controlling livestock feeding and the ratio of various livestock, scientific feeding and reducing livestock excretion.Based on the above, the countermeasure suggestions of improving the efficiency of livestock carbon emission reduction based on policy guidance and law, promoting scientific breeding to achieve livestock carbon emission reduction, and using market-based regulation to reduce livestock carbon emission to achieve livestock carbon emission reduction are proposed. |
