| China is a major maritime country, with an ocean area equivalent to one-third of the land area and abundant ecological and economic value that can be developed and utilized. To develop the marine economy, attention should be paid not only to the manifestation of the transition from "old quality" to "new quality",but also to the supporting factors behind it.Diagnosis and treatment of the "five organs and six organs" should be carried out according to the situation.Innovation is particularly crucial as the primary driving force for high-quality development of the marine economy. At present, innovation networks, knowledge networks and their evolutionary characteristics have become a hot spot in economic geography research.A large number of scholars have studied the innovation networks of knowledge intensive industries based on co-authored papers and cooperative patent data, while relatively little attention has been paid to the structure and spatial characteristics of knowledge spillover networks in the marine domain knowledge. Therefore, this article utilizes methods such as social network analysis and structural equation modeling to construct a knowledge spillover network for the marine industry at the organizational and spatial levels based on patent data and cited patent data representing knowledge spillovers in the marine industry. It studies the knowledge flow, spatial layout, and evolution characteristics of the marine field, and analyzes the factors that affect spatial knowledge spillovers. To provide reference for the high-quality development of the marine economy and the construction of an innovation system, and to enrich the research on regional innovation systems. After analysis, the following conclusions can be drawn: Firstly, patent application organizations mainly take the form of universities and enterprises, with chemical and metallurgical technology topics accounting for the majority of marine industry patents and their cited patents, followed by physics and operational transportation, and their proportion continues to increase.Among them, the production and demand for knowledge in the fields of ship and marine equipment technology, oceanographic measurement or testing technology have increased more significantly.Secondly,at the organizational level, the knowledge spillover network of the marine industry exhibits open and loose weak connections, which is conducive to the acquisition of heterogeneous information and knowledge. The status of network nodes varies significantly, among which Ocean University of China and China National Offshore Oil Corporation are the most stable sources of knowledge, with strong influence and control in the fields of marine biology and high-end marine equipment, respectively;Zhejiang Ocean University,Harbin Engineering University, and Ocean University of China occupy the largest number of structural holes. In recent years,Zhejiang Ocean University and Harbin Engineering University have been very active in knowledge absorption and have gradually become the main sources of knowledge in the network.Next, attention should be paid to their knowledge innovation and influence development in the field of emerging marine industries.Thirdly,at the spatial level, the knowledge spillover network, with Qingdao,Beijing, and Shanghai as its explosive points, continues to develop into a multi-core complex model and extends to inland areas. The channels for knowledge spillover also have path dependence and path creation; The knowledge spillover network of the marine industry is mainly concentrated in the eastern region. The core cities in the eastern region have constructed an"X"shaped spatial structure with Qingdao as the intersection point.Compared to the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration, the Yangtze River Delta and Bohai Rim urban agglomeration have shown strong cohesion and support for the knowledge spillover network in the eastern region.Fourthly, the analysis of influencing factors shows that social proximity and knowledge proximity are the main factors affecting the formation of knowledge spillover networks in the marine industry at the spatial level. The direct impact of geographical proximity is relatively weak, and it can affect knowledge spillover by acting on cognitive proximity and social proximity. At the same time, geographical proximity has a positive regulatory effect, which can strengthen the impact of economic proximity and knowledge proximity on knowledge spillover. |
