Accelerated urbanization enriches the urban skyline morphology,enhances the recognizability of the city.,and influences changes in urban microclimate.With the increasing attention to human living environment,how to balance the relationship between skyline morphology quantification and urban wind environment which can achieve the goal of both comfortable skyline form and citizens’ physical feeling is the focus of this study.Firstly,this paper presented a literature review on both urban skyline morphological evaluation and the relationship between urban space forms with outdoor wind environment.Then the paper led to two specific studies of this paper: the classification of urban skyline morphology and the correlation between morphology and wind environment.Secondly,a specific study on the morphological evaluation of urban skylines was conducted.Three theories of urban skyline concept,composition and classification were introduced in detail.And the basic evaluation method of urban skyline morphology and quantitative factors were extracted.Then its main evaluation method was determined to be the basic evaluation tools of the study.After that,the urban morphology evaluation classification was studied.It was divided into five steps: images and the preprocessing,questionnaire survey,analysis of survey results and classification.Two classification results were obtained:morphology evaluation classification and visual evaluation classification.In addition,the skyline of Qianjiang New City in Hangzhou as an example was used to determine the morphology of urban skyline.Thirdly,the correlation between urban skyline morphology and wind environment was studied.After gaining a solid understanding of the wind environment,including its features,and research dimensions,the outdoor wind evaluation criteria and methodologies were investigated.The Hangzhou Qianjiang skyline was again used as an example to find the relationship between the quantitative factors of skyline morphology and the wind environment.Finally,the paper proposed the optimization measures from the dual objectives of morphology and outdoor wind environment to the skyline of Hangzhou Qianjiang New City through the evaluation classifications of urban skyline morphology and two coupled relationships.In summary,this paper improves the system of urban skyline morphology quantification and aesthetics cognition,clarifies the scope of urban skyline morphology evaluation,and obtains the relationship between urban skyline morphology quantification factors and outdoor wind environment to fill the gap in the intersection of urban skyline morphology and outdoor wind environment.
