With the acceleration of urbanization,the development intensity of urban construction gradually increased and the urban space is becoming increasingly intensive.In the process of development,the roughness of urban ground is constantly changed.It hinders the spread and circulation of natural wind in the city.To a certain degree,it will cause the quality of urban wind environment to decline,affect people's comfort and even threaten people's life and health which is difficult to evacuate the polluted gas.Therefore,it will have great effect on the green and sustainable development of the city if the ventilation of the city would be regarded as the important content and the urban space form design reasonably carried out in the process of urban planning and design.In the meantime,it is great significative to improve the urban climate environment.Taking this context,this paper selects the Xiamen East coastal area as the research object to study the wind environment which have an important strategic position and a rapid rate of development.The thesis is divided into four parts.The first part is mainly about the study of wind environment theory.The application of wind environment in urban planning and design is summarized through research on wind environment at home and abroad to provide the theoretical basis for this below.With The study of standard of wind environment assessment,in the second part,there will be the evaluation strategy of wind environment and the index system to Provide theoretical support for the wind environment assessment below.The third part is the evaluation of wind environment in area around the eastern sea,then analyzing the current situation of wind environment from the overall level,the block level and the architectural level based on the strategy and index system established above.The last part,many optimal design strategies for the spatial pattern of the Xiamen East coastal area is proposed according to the evaluation results of wind environment.The study of wind environment in the Xiamen East coastal area is a further study on the characteristics of wind environment in coastal cities.It will provide guidance for the urban planning and design of the coastal areas and the improvement of wind environment quality that the design strategy of urban coastal zone based on wind environment comfort is proposed through qualitative and quantitative methods and multi-level analysis model.
