Objective:1.Observe the impact of wearing medical surgical masks on exercise intensity and brain tissue oxygen saturation(regional cerebral oxygen saturation,r Sc O2)and their related indicators, and test the hypothesis that "wearing medical surgical masks will improve the physical load of aerobic exercise in healthy male college students, but it will also reduce r Sc O2,resulting in insufficient oxygen supply to brain tissue".2.In indirectly evaluate the safety of healthy male college students wearing masks for aerobic exercise, providing reference for scientific fitness during the COVID-19 prevention and control period. Methods:Fifteen healthy male college students were selected as subjects to perform two aerobic exercises without masks and medical surgical masks on power bicycles, called mask-free exercise and mask-wearing exercise, respectively.Test 1 week apart, each time of 48 min, including 3min quiet phase,5min warming up,30 min exercise stage and 10 min recovery stage, the subject's heart rate and r Sc O2 and its related indicators were monitored throughout the experiment,3min in the quiet phase index;the exercise phase index was averaged every 5min;the recovery phase r Sc O2 and its related indicators were averaged every 5min,the heart rate index due to large variation and fast frequency in the recovery stage was averaged every 1min.The r Sc O2 below 55% or 20% decrease in relative basal value was considered as an outlier for brain tissue;the heart rate exceeding the target rate of 59%HRR was considered as an outlier with excessive intensity, that is,beyond the moderate intensity value. The safety of aerobic exercise was assessed by changes in r Sc O2,and reflects the effect of wearing on aerobic intensity by change in heart rate.Results:1.In the quiet phase, the mask-free test showed no difference significantly(P> 0.05);in the mask exercise, heart rate,r Sc O2,Hb O2,THB increased significantly,significantly(P<0.05)compared with mask exercise;in the recovery phase,r Sc O2 indicators in both groups decreased, but r Sc O2 was significantly higher than that of mask-free exercise.2.Based on the absolute value of r Sc O2 change, only 1 subject had an outlier of r Sc O2 during mask wearing exercise, but the remaining 14 subjects showed no r Sc O2 in the mask wearing test. The detection rate was only 6.7%,and the relative value of r Sc O2 increased by 4.8% and 3.4% from the basic value in r Sc O2 change.3.Of the 15 subjects,9 subjects showed a higher heart rate during mask-wearing exercise, but remained within a safe range of 120-160 times / points;the average improvement rate of mask-free exercise was 4.3%,an average of 5.7 times / points.Conclusions:1.Healthy male college students wear medical surgical masks for moderate intensity aerobic exercise to improve the physiological load, resulting in greater relative exercise intensity, but not leading to insufficient oxygen supply of brain tissue, but r Sc O2 increased, this study hypothesis is not completely established.2.The healthy male college students used in this institute have certain safety in wearing medical surgical masks for moderate bicycle aerobic exercise.Recommendation:1.During a special period during the COVID-19 prevention and control period, surgical masks can be worn for moderate-intensity aerobic power cycling for about 30 minutes. At the same time, wearing a mask will improve the relative exercise intensity, and do a good job of protection, while enhancing the exercise effect.2.Because the sweat is wet on the mask, medical surgical masks are easy to stick to the mouth and nose with breath, with worse subjective feelings. It is recommended that athletes should change the mask frequently after exercising or sweating for a long time.3.In the recovery period of exercise,r Sc O2 shows a downward trend,so athletes should pay attention to the subjective feelings of the recovery stage,do not stop immediately after exercise, can use slow walking transition to a quiet state.
