Computational thinking has always been a key topic in the field of computer science and education, how to efficiently foster students’ computational thinking ability is also a topic that many scholars and front-line teachers focus on.This study is based on the review of a large number of computational thinking related literature, combined with the actual situation of the author, created a teaching mode combining Mind+ and open source hardware, carried out a teaching experiment combining Mind+ and open source hardware in a normal university in Changsha, the subjects of this study were freshman students, the tool is the computational thinking scale developed by foreign scholars, data collection of the combination of Mind+ and open source hardware was completed by using the method of single group experiment before and after comparison.the experimental results show that after taking three courses on the combination of Mind+ and open source hardware, the overall level of students’ calculation thinking has been significantly improved before and after comparison. But it takes more than a few lectures and a few experiments to foster computational thinking in higher education, the cultivation of computational thinking is a continuous process, but also an imperceptible process. This study focuses on what teaching models and tools can be used to educated students’ computational thinking in higher education,a teaching model combining Mind+ and open source hardware has been built, the purpose is to provide a little suggestions for the teachers on how to advanced college students’ computational thinking in classroom teaching and the follow-up research on computational thinking. |
