In October 2020,General Secretary Xi Jinping attended the high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly to commemorate the 25 th Anniversary of the Beijing World Conference on Women.On the plenary session,he proposed that in line with the status that women served as the pioneers of human civilization,the promoters of social progress,the contributors to a sea of extraordinary achievements in all walks of life,we must keep Women in the forefront of the times.On the new journey of building high-level colleges and universities,the team of female leading cadres is constantly growing and playing an increasingly important and irreplaceable role in the organization.They have made outstanding contributions not only to the management decision-making but also to the development of scientific research and teaching in colleges and universities,and the social and family status of female leaders has gradually improved.Compared with males,female groups possess inherent leadership abilities and advantages in certain aspects,such as empathy,appeal and affinity.They always give excellent performance in interpersonal communication,guide their subordinates actively and mobilize their enthusiasm for work.In the team,they tend to create a kind of pleasant and positive working environment and atmosphere,and enhance the cohesion,centripetal force and unity of the subordinate employees.With the continuous self-improvement and breakthrough of women,the promotion and career development of female leaders,the number of women in management teams in all walks of life has gradually increased,and the research on female leadership gradually attracts increasing attention.However,at present,the research on female leadership is not comprehensive enough in contemporary society,a huge potential room for further improvement in the depth of research waiting for exploration.In this connection,in order to arouse more attention to female leaders in colleges and universities and related leadership issues,this article commits to explores the related factors of female leadership in colleges and universities,analyzing the existing difficulties and corresponding improvement measures.With the definition of related concepts of college female leadership serving as the research basis and supported by gender theory,personal position matching theory,personal environment matching theory,leadership style theory and other theories,female leadership in colleges and universities is took as the research object.It mainly uses literature analysis,Questionnaire survey method,structural equation and comparative analysis method,etc.,exploring the influencing factors and promotion issues of female leadership in colleges and universities.It apply leadership style,external traits,personal traits and other factors to construct a research model of female leadership influencing factors;put forward hypotheses about the relationship between leadership style,external traits,personal traits and female leadership in colleges and universities,and choose the formulation of questionnaires for data collection.The questionnaires were distributed to female university leaders and their corresponding subordinates.A total of 348 valid questionnaires were collected,including 108 questionnaires for university female leaders and 240 questionnaires for corresponding subordinate.Through reliability test,correlation test,and hypothesis test,it comes to the conclusion that the transformational leadership,transactional leadership,ethical leadership,and service-oriented leadership in the leadership style,as well as the environmental uncertainty,organizational support,family support,job satisfaction,organizational identity in the external characteristics,are positively correlated to the university ' s female leadership.In addition,work stress and personal trait in the external environment have no significant relationship with female leadership in colleges and universities.Based on the analysis results of the structure,it analyzes the difficulties faced by female leadership in colleges and universities and proposes corresponding solutions for the key factors that affect the development and promotion of female leadership.
