Research On Short Video News Reporting In Emergencies From The Perspective Of Narratology ——Take City Report Tik Tok's Report On The 7·20 Henan Rainstorm As An Example

The development of Internet technology has brought about changes in the form of media and short video is the most representative form of media.In recent years,major mainstream media have been stationed on short video platforms such as Tik Tok to release short video news.Short videos are convenient and instant to meet the requirements of information dissemination in emergencies.Therefore,short video news is more and more important in emergencies and the study of short video news in emergencies is also of greater research significance.This study is based on the theory of narrative science and uses literature research,text analysis and case study methods to study the narrative structure and narrative discourse of the 208 short videos released by the mainstream media "City Report" in Henan Province during the 7·20 Henan rainstorm.The first part analyzes narrative structure of the short video news from three aspects: narrative time,narrative space and narrative mode.The analysis found that the narrative time in emergency short video news showed that the narrative accelerated and the single video length was shorter,the release time catered to the audience's life habits,the release frequency was consistent with the development stage of the event and the narrative frequency increased with multiple narratives of the same event.The narrative space showed that the narrative space was mostly built with the real situation on site,the narrative scene was used to supplement the narrative content and the narrative area was mainly concentrate on urban.The linear narrative mode and the non-linear narrative mode were adopted in the narrative mode.The second part analyzes the narrative discourse of the short video news from four aspects: narrator,narrative perspective,narrative theme and narrative language.The narrators are analyzed in terms of self-narrators and non-self-reporters,non-self-reporters include overt narrators and covert narrators.Narrative perspectives include purely objective perspectives,character-limited perspectives and multiple composite perspectives,among which character-limited perspectives include fixed character-limited perspectives and variable character-limited perspectives.Narrative themes include four types of themes: situation broadcast,rescue and relief,cheering and recovery.Narrative language uses textual language,sound language,picture language and body language.The third part's summaries and discussions based on the above analysis.Through these analysis and conclusions,it is found that the short video news in emergencies presents the characteristics of narrative diversification,narrative exposure from backstage to front stage,narrative authenticity,narrative pro-people and narrative emotional;there are also narrative limitations of unstable narrative effect,unbalanced narrative content,lack of guidance and response to audience comments,and mismatch between narrative content and background music.This study proposes the narrative suggestions of using narrative elements to strengthen the narrative effect,to balance the narrative content in order to enhance the narrative comprehensiveness,actively responding to the audience to guide the audience's comments,and paying attention to the content of the narrative and the soundtrack.The research has revealed the balance between audience needs and media control,between emotional narrative and objectivity,between immediate narrative and comprehensiveness and between narrative theme and narrative effect.
