With the continuous development of the Internet and social media, participatory culture in the context of Web 2.0 is flourishing, and the number of fan communities on various social platforms is gradually increasing.Fans have played an important role in shaping the idols and their rise to fame, and this shift in the structure of the subject has given rise to the collective action of the fan community. The collective action of fan communities refers to a series of regular, organized, emotionally driven collective actions carried out by fan groups using virtual communities as a platform for communication and connection. From the "Di bar" and "Li bar" war in 2007,to the most typical "227 incident" in the past two years, the organization, reasons and purposes of the action have also been changing. Some of these incidents have had a positive impact, such as the "Overseas Expedition of the Dee Bar and the Fangirls",but more often than not, they have taken the form of fans tearing each other apart and stomping on each other to cause war.On 15 June 2021,the Central Internet Information Office announced campaign to“rectify”the Internet sector foster a healthy fan culture, naming the fandom as one of the areas in need of remedy, including this type of negative collective action. It can be seen that this collective action of fans with negative effects urgently needs to understand its generation mechanism and put forward countermeasures from multiple subjects. This paper focuses on this type of collective action of fans, taking the typical event "227" as the main object of study, and the "value-added theory" proposed by American sociologist Neil Smelser as the main theoretical framework, while combining "affective labour","emotional mobilization","fan culture" and other related theories to consider the generation mechanism of collective action of fan communities and the response strategies. The study found that the six factors proposed by Smelser in his theory of cumulative value are also present in the collective action of fan communities, but their sequential overlap to constitute collective action has been blurred by the Internet. The mechanism of collective action of fan communities is not a simple linear process, but a complex system of external influences and internal mobilization mechanisms, and due to the nature of fan communities, the role of emotions in collective action of fan communities should not be underestimated.Based on a comprehensive understanding of fan communities and the mechanisms that generate collective action, this paper argues that the pernicious effects of collective action are multifaceted. It is inappropriate to completely blame the existence of fans.Idols, platforms, commercial capital, and the lack of law and regulation should be responsible for this phenomenon.Under the call of government departments represented by the Internet Information Office, this type of collective action with a predominantly negative impact will be taken seriously by academia and society, and will gradually be guided by reason.
