This paper first introduces the background and research significance of the topic,the main research contents and possible innovation points,and expounds the research status on the hedonic price theory in detail.Then it introduces the origin of hedonic price theory and four different methods of compiling hedonic price index.Then it explains several linear function forms of the hedonic price model which are widely used at home and abroad,and supplements the semi parametric model which is seldom used,and compares the advantages and disadvantages of these models,which shows that the explanation ability of the double logarithm model and the semi parametric model is better.Finally,in the empirical analysis,this paper collects 17 mobile phone brands,and selects 419 mobile phone models released from January2018 to March 2021 as samples,covering the vast majority of mobile phone styles in the market in recent years.In this chapter,419 samples of mobile phone price are selected to study.The conclusions are as followsFirst,the three characteristic price indexes can eliminate the impact of quality changes on mobile phone prices,and the changes of these three characteristic price indexes are on a downward trend.Secondly,from the perspective of specific values,the change of quality adjusted price index is the largest,which indicates that quality adjusted price index is more able to eliminate the impact of quality changes on mobile phone prices,while the decline of consolidated data is the smallest,because it assumes that the impact of mobile phone features on mobile phone prices does not change over time.In reality,this assumption is very difficult to achieve Therefore,there may be some errors in the compilation results of the combined characteristic price index.Third,5g technology began to gradually spread to people's lives,and the impact of the technology on the price of mobile phones is increasing year by year.In addition,the screen pixel density and CPU processing frequency of mobile phones have an increasing impact on the price of mobile phones,which indicates that consumers will not only pay attention to the external conditions of mobile phones,but also have certain requirements on the performance of mobile phones.At the same time,mobile phone manufacturers should also formulate better product pricing strategies according to the impact of various characteristic variables on the price of mobile phones,in order to achieve higher efficiency.Therefore,this paper suggests that in the process of mobile phone R&D,mobile phone manufacturers should improve the performance of mobile phones,actively carry out market research,cater to consumers' psychological preferences,so as to meet consumers' requirements for the functionality of mobile phones,and actively promote the healthy development of China's electronic product market.Consumers and mobile phone manufacturers promote and complement each other.Finally,because the official statistical agencies in China have not yet popularized the use of hedonic price method,the main reason is that the construction of the relevant database is not perfect,and it takes a lot of resources to collect a lot of price and hedonic data of goods.Therefore,it is suggested that the official statistical agencies cooperate with producers or commodity distribution agencies to obtain a more comprehensive database,so as to promote the application of hedonic price method.
