Portal System Design Of PaaS Platform Based On Customer Journey

The project was derived from a JD.com-issued web portal construction project for JD Mini Program.As a product intern at JD.com's Retail Technology and Data Center,the author was tasked to come up with the product proposal,determine the interactive design,help with the preliminary survey,handle client liaison,negotiate technical solution selections,and carry out visual design.As China's biggest one-stop e-commerce platform,JD.com employs various standardized management practices,which effectively reduce the cost of operation and maintenance,but leave little room of customization for merchants.Therefore,a secure and user-friendly technical framework is needed to authorize merchants' access to certain technical functionalities,so that they could develop service patterns according to their business needs.This is an attempt to attract merchants by fulfilling the diversification needs of merchants strategizing for long-tail effect,while lowering JD.com's vertical maintenance costs.The portal is one of the client-oriented products affiliated to JD Mini Program.Its mission is to introduce the mini program's characteristic features and cooperation modes to merchants as well as developers,while also offering efficient developing and management tools.The project was aimed at demonstrating how multiple parties' requirements can be fulfilled when the merchants are using the portal.In the Paper,guided by the system design principle,the inductive method and deductive method were taken as the main research framework.The basic functional architecture of the portal system was extracted through the analysis for competitive products,and the entry point for the optimization of core function was exploited by user research method and client journey analysis.Through the SWOT analysis of specified product design strategy,the product system and interactive visual scheme meeting multi-role demands were designed finally,such that even the least feasible product can satisfy both economic and operational ease requirements,and that the portal system of the mini program can received satisfactory internal and external reviews after its launch.Apart from laying a reliable foundation for upcoming product iterations,the interaction and visualization designs carried out herein have also added into the pool of standardized design procedures,serving as reliable references for similar platform construction projects in the future.
