Love And Livelihood

This report is an in-depth report focusing on the living situation of art practitioners in Jingzhou,a third-tier city in Hubei Province,and exploring how they "find love" and "make a living" while making a living and pursuing their dreams.Focusing on the declining historical and cultural city in the context of seeking cultural revitalization,its art industry emerged many wonderful individuals,as well as their struggle or compromise between reality and ideal stories.The author has interviewed six artists in depth about their working experience.They have different circumstances.Some of them do not seek fame or wealth,but only for their own heart.Some are naive and persistent,almost solitary and brave.Some people repeatedly after failure,gradually decadent.Some are moving away from being artists and becoming businessmen and teachers.There are also people who are crazy for art and escape from reality.Through specific case stories,the author hopes to present various structural pressures faced by artists in different cities,as well as their different choices of art under great pressure.This report tries to reveal some topics,using the methods of participatory observation and depth interview.This report studies and expounds how the small city artists,a specific group,make a living in hardship and how to "seek love" for art.This report tries to show the artists' real life,and call attention to them from all walks of life.
