Intangible cultural heritage can be one of the most popular point of every field in China in these few years very shortly.People are increasingly conscious that it should be one significant symbol of historical achievement for the country and the nation.Intangible cultural heritage, originating from folk, seems to be individually or collectively regarded as events, performances, expressions, knowledge and skills for cultural heritage and even the related tools, objects, crafts and sites.Meanwhile, through its evolution and development, wisdoms and splendid culture of nations or groups in each region have been excel ently realized by intangible cultural heritage. It may not only play an important role on research of civilization evolution, but exist special significance as well for expressing diversity of world culture, which can be the common wealth for human beings.Different from traditional museum,it seems a platform for communication with the public. However, the short-time development of intangible cultural heritage museum in our country could lead to the current exploratory stage of study in exhibition design.Nowadays, due to shortages such as ordinary combination of objects, simplification of expression means, difficult implement of on-the-spot demonstrations,it may hard to thoroughly and lively convey intangible cultural heritage for exhibitions which can cause visitors are less likely to understand cultural spirit from exhibition. Therefore, essential y,exhibition design for intangible cultural heritage should study in design application of spatial ternary theory to avoid one-sidedness of spatial dualism in the past.Henri Lefebvre's spatial ternary theory is to divide space into three dimensionalities: natural space, spiritual space and social space, which also correspond to three space structures: spatial practice, representations of space and representational space.Additionally, these three can connect and influence each other, but eventual y,the representational space, namely social space,is more likely to be the crucial attribution.Hence,Henri Lefebvre emphasized the importance of social relationship, breaking the rigid spatial dualism theory and constructing a dynamic space development frame. The aim of this essay is to divide and analyze exhibition space in intangible cultural heritage museum based on Henri Lefebvre's spatial ternary theory.Furthermore,it is intended to explore relevant design strategies to improve current intangible cultural heritage museum exhibitions as well. There are five sections in this research: conception explanation, issue discovery, theory application, presentation of design strategies and design practice. The first part is from chapter one to three.the theory foundation of this essay.Chapter one is introduction, involving related research background, intention, significance and current situation.Besides, research methods, technology roadmap, content framework, research difficulties and innovation points are included as well.Chapter two and three describe the correlative concepts about intangible cultural heritage museum and spatial ternary theory of Henri Lefebvre, from which it can be concluded that living condition of intangible cultural heritage museum exhibition accords with the space development in spatial ternary theory, emphasizing on dynamic. Therefore, the demonstration of identity and complementary between them may provide the basis of the research for their combination.Additionally, chapter four, the second section, mainly presents the investigation of intangible cultural heritage museums in our country. Its result shows that the current status of these museums cannot meet the actual demands from visitors.Thirdly,in chapter five, according to the investigation, the types and characteristics of intangible cultural heritage museums can be listed. At the same time, through applying spatial ternary theory,a space analysis model can be established by deconstruction of intangible cultural heritage and space of these museums, which can help to analyze the relationships between visitors, inheritors, designers and exhibits, exhibition tools, physical space in detail and to lay a solid foundation for the proposal of design strategies. Moreover, chapter six can be the whole fourth part.Based on the finished analysis and investigation, design principles and strategies would be raised.Eventual y,as the last section, chapter seven is the practice of space model and design strategies mentioned before.Final design will be targeted at intangible cultural heritage pavilion in Anhui Museum by means of considering the perspectives of spatial ternary theory, taking into account local people, available space and local intangible features and final y utilizing design strategies. In addition, the conclusions will be presented at last. Therefore, this essay is to study in the application of Henri Lefebvre's spatial ternary theory in intangible cultural heritage museum exhibition and then to suggest that museum exhibition designers need to take a view of dynamic development.Certainly, the innovation is more likely one part of space dynamic development,so the importance of innovation and development of intangible cultural heritage and related museum would also be emphasized, which can respect its original property at the same time.In conclusion, spatial ternary theory from Henri Lefebvre can be a new method for the transformation of current situation for intangible cultural heritage museum exhibitions.
