This thesis deeply researches the existing Bit Indexed Explicit Replication(BIER)technology and its extension protocol,analyzes the existing problems of the existing multicast protocol,and proposes a multicast protection scheme based on the BIER technology in order to optimize the problem.First,this thesis describes the BIER protocol architecture,analyzes the constituent elements of BIER,BIRT(Bit Index Routing Table)and BIFT(Bit Index Routing Table)from the perspective of the BIER control plane and the BIER data plane.Then,the BIER multicast protection requirements are analyzed and three BIER multicast protection schemes are proposed,namely the BMP protection scheme based on BIER,the double-plane BIER protection scheme and p-cycle BIER multicast protection scheme.Finally,the P4(Programming protocol-independent packet processors)scheme is used to simulate the BIER protection schemes,which verifies that the BIER protection schemes can effectively protect BIER multicast forwarding and are effective multicast protection schemes.The work content of this thesis mainly includes:1)Researched the background and research status of BIER,analyzed the related RFCs and drafts of BIER,learned about the hierarchical information of the BIER control plane,the BIER data plane and basic router types in the BIER domain.Studied the process of generating the forwarding header bit string from the network deployment information in the domain,generating the BIER forwarding table,and how to look up the table when forwarding;2)The multicast protection requirements of the BIER protocol are analyzed,including link optimization requirements,link stateless requirements and mathematical modeling.On this basis,stateless multicast protection schemes based on BIER technology are proposed,which are BMP protection scheme based on BIER,double-plane BIER multicast protection scheme and p-cycle BIER multicast protection scheme.In the BIER-based BMP protection scheme,concepts such as deviated path and deviated tree are proposed,and unicast and multicast are discussed separately like the SUPP scheme and BMP scheme;in the double-plane BIER protection scheme,plane division,the concept of relay node and other concepts are discussed separately for unicast and multicast like the DPSUPP scheme and DPBMP scheme;in the p-cycle network BIER protection scheme,the structure of the p-cycle network and p-cycle-based routing are discussed,and BDPP scheme is proposed.Finally,it carried out protection examples and proved its feasibility and effectiveness;3)The BIER protocol simulation network environment is built based on the P4 simulation scheme.On this basis,the BIER technology-based multicast protection scheme is simulated to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed BIER protection scheme.
