The serious game based on VR technology is essentially a learning system,and has the characteristics of diversity and individuality.Users can learn easily and enjoyably in this system and have a good learning experience.Serious games are used in many fields.Because serious games combine seriousness and entertainment,they can better attract young users and improve the independent learning ability of young people.Compared with the traditional website e-books and other forms of online learning,serious games based on VR technology have stronger interactivity and experience,and enable users to easily achieve the purpose of knowledge transfer in an entertaining environment.In view of this,this paper,supported by relevant theories and key technologies,designs and develops a serious game about traditional Chinese medicine culture education combined with virtual reality technology-"Hundred Herb Garden",which enables adolescent users to learn traditional Chinese medicine knowledge independently through the process of learning and collecting herbs in the game.This study is based on the psychological and physiological characteristics of adolescents and theories such as Dell's "Tower of Experience" and Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs,and the hardware platform of "Bacchus Garden" is HTC Vive,whose module functions include lighting,materials,special effects,blueprint UI and other parts of the UE4 engine,including special effects and interaction modules.The immersion and interaction experience brought by users makes the VR serious game more profound and interesting than traditional cultural education.In order to verify the functional embodiment of the VR serious game of "Bacchanal",this study also concluded with a questionnaire survey of the experiencers.Through the survey results,the educational significance of the serious game for the traditional herbal culture of youth is affirmed,and the advantages and shortcomings of VR technology application in the serious game are also analyzed.This project provides a feasible solution for the application of VR technology in serious games,and also provides a new form of education for traditional medicine culture education.
