Radio Frequency Identification(RFID)has been successfully applied in many fields, which brings great convenience for the public. With the development of the Internet of Thing(IoT)going deep into people's daily life, work, and travel,it makes people hard to leave these tech-nologies.However,RFID needs to work in an open channel and often faces different kinds of security threats, which may easily result in some adverse impacts such as privacy information disclosure and even property loss during conducting some transactions or operations. Thus, these impacts may block the development of Io T.Though many researchers have proposed a large number of security protocol for RFID systems, these still exist some defects when protect-ing privacy information such as identity and driving record in the identifying vehicle scenary. Therefore, the paper conducts the following survey:Firstly, the paper surveys the security of the reader and these possible attacks when execut-ing the protocol. And the paper designs an anonymous mutual authentication protocol based on RFID technology, through which the vehicle tag can achieve mutual authentication and anony-mously negotiate session key.Besides, the protocol can also prevent these attackers from hold-ing a lost reader to obtain privacy related information. The security of the protocol can be proved with the security discussion and BAN logic, and all the security requirements of the protocol are confirmed by security comparison. Therefore, the protocol is more secure than the comparison protocol.Through the comparison of computing cost, storage cost and communication cost,it is proved that the protocol is more suitable for low-cost vehicle tags.Secondly, facing the performance limitation of related protocols in retrieving authentica-tion information on a server, the paper proposes a strategy to improve the performance of au-thentication information retrieval.Based on the improved authentication information retrieval method, the paper proposes an anonymous mutual authentication protocol. Then, the security of the authentication protocol can be proved with the BAN logic and security discussion. Finally, through the comparison of computing cost, storage cost and communication cost,it is proved that the improved protocol is also suitable for light-weight tags.
