In recent years, with the rapid development of communication technology, andwidely used of mobile terminal equipments in wireless networks, people’s lives hasbeen improved a lot. At the same time, the security of wireless network issues and thelimited resources of mobile terminals are becoming the center of attention, whichcould not be well dealt with the existed mutual authentication and key agreementschemes. Therefore, it is particularly important to design a new mutual authenticationkey agreement scheme which is safer and more efficient. We propose an efficient time stamp-based authentication scheme using smartcards, which is based on elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem and a secureone-way hash function. The schema in this paper has the following characteristics:Using password and smart card to authenticate user’s identity, so it can resist thecounterfeit attacks, thereby enhancing the robustness of the system. This schemaadvance the security of the system and protect the privacy of the private key, because itis based on the elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem, the secure hash function andthe time-stamp. What is more, the DOS attacks is greatly reducing as a result of addingthe delay constraints, the server will discard the information outside the effectiveperiod of time. Finally, we design and complete the simulation system using MyEclipsedevelopment environment on Windows systems, which is used to verify the feasibilityand comparative analysis with other programs. The analysis shows that our scheme candefends the attacks that could be launched against other related previous schemes, andrequires less computational cost.
