Along with the globalization of supplier chain be become more and more extensive,lean thinking is widely applied for the production optimization or improvement in the electronics industry OEM(Original Equipment Manufacturer),these OEMs only take responsible for production in accordance with the customer's design requirements.But product hardware design,reliability verification,customer's feedback etc.are not completed by OEMs,so they just focus on factory,or certain processes.They cannot improved the source of the production problem: product design,and they can't improve production from a comprehensive understanding of product reliability or production-related problems of product consumers.The thesis applies lean thinking from the perspective of the whole production process to improve the production of Slim Lite solid-state drive of S company,not only including the production,also improving design for manufacturability and production-related problems from product reliability,in order to analyze the product comprehensive production process,to provide the improvement from the source.The thesis go thourgh lean thinking and design for manufacturability etc.related theories,find out the correlation between lean thinking and design of manufacturability,to get the thesis logical and research direction;Secondly,by the lean thinking value stream mapping,to analyzes these problems in the whole process of S company's Slim Lite solid-state drive production and find out their root causes and apply lean thinking to the necessity of S company's Slim Lite solid-state drive production;Finally,according to lean thinking,other related theories,and S company's actual production of Slim Lite solid-state drive,to figure out reasonable solution for these production problem and provide the lesson learn of production management,the suggestion of lean production improvement for the similar electronic product factory.The result of this thesis:(1)These major problems in the production of S company's Slim Lite solid-state drive: low ratio of production line balancing,high production failure rate,and poor product reliability performance,their root cause are the lack of effective design of manufacturability management,the lack of process standardization management,the lack of effective production standardization management.(2)To figure out the improvement from the resource of production,design of manufacturability management,to production line management etc.entire processes.(3)By trail run these improvement solutions,the line balancing ratio be improved from 53.79% to 80.38%;the product yield rate be improved from 99.92% to 99.97%;the improved products passed all reliability tests.Given these data,the improvement archieves positive results.This research is not limited to the manufacturing factory or a certain manufacturing process,to apply lean thinking into all production-related process of the entire product meets the requirements of the whole process theory of lean thinking.From the beginning of the product design,the manufacturability of the production is fully considered,to optimize the production process,to improve production yield rate,to optimize the production-related problems in the product reliability verification,to improve the feedback of production-related issue from customer side.By the lean thinking for whole process to impove the production efficiency,product quality,and product reliability performance.The thesis can be referenced for S company future lean thinking improvement,also can provide a certain reference for the implementation of lean thinking in multinational and international electronic companies which adopt global division of labor and collaboration.
