In the 40 years since China's reform and opening up,the eastern region has taken the lead in taking the geographical advantages of the coastal regions to transfer foreign industries and achieve economic growth.In recent years,due to the soar up of the labor and land cost,in order to get sustainable development,a large number of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies originally in southeastern costal region have moved to the central and western regions under the call of the local government's favorable policies.Key employees are indispensable blood for the normal operation and further development of the company.Under the continue spreading of Covid-19,the world's overall consumer market demand is extremely shrinking,which has severely damped China's private economy,and the impacts received vary from industry to industry.At this special moment,the topic of how to motivate key employees to ensure the sustainable development of the company has become particularly important.CH Company,a typical small and medium-sized manufacturing enterpirse,responded to the call of Jiangsu Yancheng Government and transferred the company from Shenzhen to Yancheng,Jiangsu in 2016.This thesis takes CH Company as the research object.Through literature analysis,two questionnaire surveys,field investigations and case analysis investigation methods,five significant problems have been found in the CH Company's motivation system,which are the lack of awareness of human resource knowledge,ignorance of intrinsic motivation,inequality of motivations,no formal motivation system,and lack of corporate culture as a support in motivation.Detailed case analysis has been proceeded based on Alderfer's ERG theory and Adam's Equity Theory.Aiming at solving the current problems,this thesis had also proposed suggestions for improving the key employee motivation mechanism of CH Company and have come up with the refined motivational system on establishing a complete salary system,a comprehensive training and promotion system,introducing equity/shareholders motivation,proceeding differentiated motivation and attaching greater importance to the motivation role of corporate culture based on related motivation theory.This will not only help CH Company to increase the employees' job satisfaction level and also provide some references for other small and medium manufacturing enterprises transferred to Midwest in China.
