As a goal oriented form of interactive entertainment,video games provide participants with a way of self presentation and expression in the virtual world,and also create an interactive mode different from traditional literature.The generalized narrative in video games is the basis of a game,which determines the rules of the game,and also the carrier of other narrative content,including the player's Perceptible World View and the game mechanism.The open World RPG game,with its high fidelity to the real world and more immersive player participation,makes the player as the main body of information no longer a passive receiver,but a creator of narrative content.When each mechanism and each branch system interact and connect with each other,even if the total number of mechanisms is limited,the depth of the game can be guaranteed,which is the emergence narrative.It can be said that emerging narrative,as a way for designers to establish narrative structure,can not only make the design more efficient,but also make the experience more natural.Based on the MDA framework model and interpreting the application of emerging narrative in game design and experience from the perspective of two-way angle of designer and player,this paper combines theoretical deduction,case analysis and practical output with the dimensions of the narrative structure and experience elements of RPG games in the open world.Through the theoretical dimension,the feasibility of emerging narrative to construct game experience is expounded,and the basic research information such as the definition,characteristics and market development of emerging narrative and open world RPG is analyzed and combing in detail.Based on the design criteria of perfect game design methodology MDA framework,the two core standards of open world game and role-playing game experience are determined-game content density and player agent consciousness,and the design idea of creating experience in open world RPG is clarified on this basis.After making it clear that the emerging narrative has a more efficient experience at the player's decision-making level and the agent level,the design strategy ideas applicable to the RPG narrative mode of the open world are derived on this basis,and the design method is formulated from the three dimensions of mechanism,dynamic and aesthetics.Then,to the extent permitted by the development cost,the construction of information architecture and the realization of interactive system are carried out by using the emerging narrative to carry out practical design output.Finally,through the feedback of the actual player experience,the feasibility of the emerging narrative in the design strategy and the effectiveness of the experience construction are verified,and optimized for the shortcomings.This paper attempts to discuss the degree of control and freedom in the open world RPG,starts with the play mechanism of the open world,demonstrates the proportion of the fun of the incarnation identity generated by the player manipulating the character and the interaction of the game in the RPG experience,and discusses how to better integrate the open world design into the large narrative framework of the game.
