Electronic games have become one of the more and more important recreational activities in people's life,and serious game,a new kind of game,is attracting more and more attention because of its great social value.Serious game emphasizes its multiple functions of culture and education,which not only affect the user's experience,but also the communication effect of the game's functions.Cognitive load theory is an important theory developed on the basis of modern cognitive psychology,which has extensive application ability and practical value.Many researchers have applied it in the field of pedagogy to verify the effect of learning,in recent years,cognitive load theory has been applied to the field of product design,and it can be said that cognitive load theory is of great significance to the design of serious game.This paper studies the relationship between cognitive load theory and serious game,and takes user needs and product goals as the guide,and optimizes the cognitive load of relevant information contacts in the process of user cognitive experience.It puts forward some methods and strategies to guide the practice of serious game's design,which can increase the density and degree of positive evaluation of serious game,and promote the improvement of user experience and the realization of serious game.In this paper,the basic research work of cognitive load theory and the research object is carried out,and the theoretical basis,classification and influence of cognitive load theory,and the definition and classification of serious game are sorted out.The usability value and advantages of cognitive load theory applied to serious game design practice are demonstrated from the perspective of user experience.Learning motivation and communication advantage,with serious game as the research scope,serious game takes the study of design practice methods to the theoretical level,which is a detailed study of serious game design and an extension of the application of theory.Based on the structural model of cognitive load theory,the concrete content of cognitive load factors of weak serious game is obtained and classified according to the source of these load factors.Based on the classification of cognitive load and the related research contents of control means,this paper puts forward a balanced approach to the factors of cognitive load in weak serious game.Then the cognitive load factor is mapped to the level of game ontology and user cognitive experience,and a practical design strategy model is produced based on the goal orientation of serious game and user experience requirements,the relationship between theory and practice is established.From the perspective of cognitive experience,this paper puts forward detailed design strategies on the aspects of utility,processing and perception.Utility level attention is a study of information memory experience,which is related to the factors such as the serious game content and the player's internal drive.Processing layer from the core play,guidance,feedback,goal reward point of view of the players cognitive load balance means is the study of information processing and output experience.From the perspective of aesthetic schema and design load factors,the perceptive layer puts forward the strategy of matching the player's cognitive schema and reducing the external load.In the practical part,the author selects an existing serious game case,carries on the reconstruction design with the author's scheme,compares and analyzes the experience effect of the new and the old serious games to verify the feasibility of the design strategy.At the end of the paper,the author summarizes and looks forward to the future of the paper.
