Micro display technology is a display technology that has emerged with the acceleration of electronic informationization in recent decades.With its unique features such as miniaturization,light weight and high resolution,it has been maturely used in military technology,medical and health,transportation and communication fields.Among them,the LED microdisplay device made with mature CMOS integrated circuit technology has more characteristics.It is a comprehensive device integrating microelectronic devices,optoelectronic systems and integrated circuits,and has extremely broad development prospects.Based on a silicon-based light source that is fully compatible with standard CMOS technology,this paper designs a complete micro-display driving system based on the photoelectric micro-display pixel array using the light source to drive the display,and finally the display product is verified through FPGA generation timing.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)This paper describes the research process of microdisplay technology,especially LED microdisplay technology.By studying the light-emitting mechanism of silicon-based light sources,a new type of silicon LED product has been developed using 0.18 ?m standard CMOS technology.The new light source is a three-terminal device that works in the reverse biased state of the PN junction,and the gate voltage can regulate its luminous intensity.This paper introduces its luminous mechanism in detail.At the same time,the relevant performance of the chip is verified by tape out.The new light source material only uses silicon,so it will emit yellow visible light during reverse bias breakdown,and the luminous performance is good.(2)In this thesis,the pixel structure and row and column drive circuit design are made based on this new silicon-based light source.The pixel structure driving method adopts semi-active driving,which can greatly save the array area.Based on the principle of pixel unit,the array and the timing drive of the SPI protocol are completed,and the digital IC design process is used for simulation verification and synthesis.(3)In this paper,the designed photoelectric micro-display array is packaged,and its dedicated PCB test board is made at the same time.The driver circuit PCB board can freely choose FPGA serial communication interface or USB serial communication interface,and at the same time has a level conversion circuit,which can fully guarantee the normal operation of the microdisplay array chip.(4)This paper chooses Xilinx's Spartan-6 FPGA development board,and uses the provided design analysis tool Plan Ahead to complete all FPGA sequential logic design and simulation verification.And then we perform system verification on the entire drive circuit system,and the test finds that the microdisplay.The array is fully functional.Finally,performance tests including power consumption,refresh rate and luminous intensity were also done.The result proves that the microdisplay array designed in this subject has excellent display performance and fulfilled the research goal of this subject.
