The magneto-electric dipole antenna is the best choice for many wireless communication systems due to its inherent characteristics of low cross-polarization,low back-lobe and wide band,but its disadvantages of 3-D structure and high profile seriously restrict its application range.Therefore,a large number of researchers have studied the low-profile design of magneto-electric dipole antennas.At present,the existing lowprofile design methods are mainly designed solely for vertical wall or floor,and most of the antennas involved are linear polarization,and the design structure is complex,so it is difficult to be directly applied to other polarization forms of magneto-electric dipole antennas.Based on this background,the method of designing the low-profile structure simultaneously on the vertical wall and floor of the magneto-electric dipole antenna is studied in this paper,in order to understand and master the performance of the magnetoelectric dipole antenna with lower profile.In addition,to solve the problem of complex antenna structure caused by the existing low-profile design,the low-profile design method of setting meander slots on the vertical wall is studied,which provides a reference for the design of magneto-electric dipole antenna with simple structure and different polarization forms.To sum up,this thesis focuses on the design of low-profile broadband magneto-electric dipole antenna,mainly including the following contents.1.The origin and development of magneto-electric dipole antennas and the research progress of low-profile design at home and abroad are introduced.The related theories of magneto-electric dipole antenna were studied in detail,and the existing low-profile design methods are summarized.2.Taking the low-profile magneto-electric dipole antenna with folded vertical wall as an example,the influence of the variation of key parameters of the antenna is analyzed and summarized.The effects of key parameters of the antenna on the resonant point and bandwidth are obtained,which can be used to guide the low-profile design of the magneto-electric dipole antenna.3.The low-profile design method based on folding meander is studied.A low-profile magneto-electric dipole antenna with vertical metal wall and floor folded at the same time was designed.The height of the profile is further reduced,and the design of the extended bandwidth with parasitic structure is verified.4.A low-profile design method of setting meander slots on the vertical shorted patch was studied,which has the advantages of simple structure and easy to mass production.A linearly polarized low-profile magneto-electric dipole antenna was designed by this method,and the effectiveness of the meander slots low-profile design method was verified and analyzed in detail.Then,the low-profile design method is applied to the dual polarization antenna,and a low-profile broadband dual polarization magneto-electric dipole antenna is designed,and the simulation analysis is performed.5.A low-profile wideband circularly polarized magneto-electric dipole antenna based on meander slots is designed.Based on the designed low-profile dual-polarization antenna,the circular polarization characteristic is realized by designing a wideband feed network,and has been processed and tested.The antenna has the advantages of lowprofile,wide band and simple structure,which is beneficial to the popularization and application of magneto-electric dipole antenna in wireless communication system.
