In order to meet the increasing demands of GM counting tube—a kind of nuclear radiation detection sensor — from radiation detection industry,various ideas and attempts have been put forward to improve the testing efficiency of the testing process in the production of GM counting tube.But one of the most significant ideas for discussion and research is to research and design a set of automatic testing system for GM counting tube and calculate or process the test results automatically,to replaces the traditional manual test and the record to test data.Improving the production capacity by improving the test efficiency of GM counting tube.The topic of this thesis is the design and implementation of autotest and data processing software of GM counting tube,focusing on the signal acquisition and storage form of the lower computer in the autotest system,the setting of communication protocol between the upper computer and the lower computer,the implementation technique of GM counting tube test voltage self-test,etc.The main research content is divided into four parts.First of all,according to the requirements of the project,the parallel test of multi-channel GM counting tube needs to be realized.The design of the hardware part of the lower computer according to the software requirements,is an important basic condition for the final realization of the parallel test of 16 GM counting tubes.Secondly,according to the test process and requirements of GM counting tube,the communication protocol format between the lower computer and the upper computer needs to be determined,which provides the basic guarantee for the data transmission between the upper and lower computers and the overall stable operation in the later stage of the test system.Then,each of the test items has relatively strict requirements on the test voltage during the test process of GM counting tube.Because of the different test results will appear at different test voltages in the same test item,which greatly effects the accuracy of the test results.Consequently,it is necessary to carry out self-test on the output voltage of high-voltage module,to ensure that there won't be a large deviation to the voltage,and improving the accuracy of the test results as well.This part of the program code is written by the author completely.PLC console is used on the testing process of GM counting tube production line,which combined with scaler to complete the test of GM counting tube.The GM counting tube testing process is in the form of one tube by one tube and one step by one step.In addition,all the test data needs to be record and calculate manually.The whole testing process is not only time-consuming and labor-consuming,but it also induces the deviation to test results due to human factors.Through the research and design of this thesis,users can only click the “start testing” button on the upper computer,16 GM counting tubes can be tested automatically at the same time,also the test data will be directly calculated and saved by the lower and upper computers,in addtion,the efficiency will increase by nearly 16 times.Which aims to save the test time,greatly improve the efficiency of the whole test,ensure the accuracy of the test data,moreover,save human and material resources.It not only satisfies the current demands to output of GM counting tube,but also can deal with the situation easily when the demands become to 10 times or even 20 times in the future.That this means to cost reduction and efficiency enhancement.
