As a trading center for old books,second-hand bookstores are an important part of China's book publishing industry,and they play an important role in the inheritance and dissemination of culture.Its healthy development is not only conducive to providing comprehensive academic services for scholars,but also conducive to creating a good market environment.At the same time,used bookstores,as a typical representative of the circular economy,have made contributions to conservation-oriented society.However,with the depletion of used book resources and the emergence of independent bookstores,the development of physical old bookstores is struggling.Although the Internet used bookstore is developing well,with the decline of the Internet demographic dividend,development bottlenecks have begun to appear.After the concept of "new retail" was put forward in 2016,some old bookstores were unwilling to decline,they adapt to changes in time,and began to apply new theories to support their own transformation and development,even they achieved some achievements.This phenomenon is worth thinking about.Based on the SWOT analysis method,this paper sorts out the internal and external environment of the old book industry under the new retail format,also includes the advantages and disadvantages of its own development.At the same time,it summarizes the six characteristic business strategies of used bookstores.Although old bookstore has achieved some results through its characteristic business strategy,there are still problems such as insufficient awareness of brand building,deficient channel integration,instability of book sources,and cultural experience that needs to be upgraded.In order to solve these problems,the author puts forward suggestions such as attaching great importance to brand management,strengthening online and offline interaction,building stable supply channels,and adhering Cultural-oriented philosophy,hoping to learn from the development of second-hand bookstores in my country.
