The target tracking or detection antennas are required to realize fast space scanning in their tactical application. For example, it requires not only low inertia but also rapid scanning in designing seeker antenna. The antenna in which polarization-twisting technology is used can meet this requirement.To this end, this paper designs and analyzes a kind of polarization-twisting antenna working at 8 millimeters wave band according to the engineering background. Concrete works are as follows:1. First, this paper studied the key points in polarization-twisting antenna’s design based on polarization-twisting antenna theory, such as the choice of parabolic size, the requirement of the feed and the design of the main vice reflector gratings.2. The matching between the polarization-twisting antenna and its feed is considered in this paper. The transmission line equivalent mode is used combined with GA to calculate and optimize the size of gratings in the two reflecting surfaces. And then the electromagnetic simulation software is used to optimize the design of gratings’ size3. In the design of polarization-twisting board, the matrix cascade method is used to get every parameter of each layer.4. In the anechoic chamber, we studied and tested the polarization-twisting antenna prototype working at 8 millimeters wave band.5. At last, the polarization-twisting antenna’s dual-frequency work performance is analyzed in this paper.
