Knowledge is not only the source of individual competitive advantage, but also the basis of enterprise survival. With the growing knowledge-based economy, the development and innovation of both organizations and individuals can not only rely on the use of their own internal knowledge. They inevitably have to obtain knowledge from external environments.Social media belongs to communal transactive memory systems.Users upload their good knowledge to social media. At the same time, social media provide users with a variety of retrieval functions with which users can equally access the database to find expert knowledge. From the perspectives of communication visibility and social capital, this thesis examines impacting factors of transactive memory systems and knowledge behavior in the context of social media, having important theoretical and practical implications.Firstly, this thesis analyzes the research background and implications, and reviews the research status at home and abroad around transactive memory systems, knowledge seeking behavior, knowledge sharing behavior and knowledge application behavior. Then, this thesis expounds the theories of communication visibility and social capital, which provides theoretical support for the study.Based on existing theories and literature, this thesis develops a second-order model of transactive memory systems in the context of social media, and develops the research model and hypotheses. Then, the scale design and data collection are carried out.In the process of data analysis, this thesis first tests the measurement model. The research results are following: the construct of transactive memory systems is an effective second-order variable in the context of social media, and more reflected by the credibility dimension. From the perspective of social capital theory, trust, social interaction ties and shared vision all positively affect transactive memory systems. From the perspective of communication visibility, content visibility has a positive impact on transactive memory systems, and communication immediacy has a positive impact on knowledge seeking behavior.Transactive memory systems have positive impacts on knowledge sharing, knowledge application and knowledge seeking behavior. In addition, the mean differences of trust, social interaction ties, shared vision, content visibility, communication immediacy, knowledge sharing, knowledge seeking, knowledge application and transactive memory systems are compared and analyzed based on individual characteristics of users.
