Realistic simulation of natural landscapes has always been an important content of computer graphics.Whether in film special effects,game entertainment,or virtual scenes,you can see real landscapes generated by computers.These landscapes play an irreplaceable role in improving the visual effect of the scene.Compared with the sky,mountains and rivers,the water surface has its own particularity.The movement of the water surface is very complicated due to the influence of some factors such as terrain,wind and light.These characteristics bring great difficulty to realistic water surface drawing.The existing water surface animation simulation algorithms have achieved certain results in real-time water surface simulation,but there are still many shortcomings.For example,although the currently popular Gerstner wave model has steep wave crests similar to the real sea surface,its geometric form is completely symmetrical,and the artificial traces are more obvious.FFT-based simulation has a large amount of calculation and is not suitable for real-time simulation of water surface.Based on these shortcomings,the main research work of this article is as follows:(1)This paper studies and compares several commonly used water surface modeling methods,and evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of each method.On the basis of comparing existing models and algorithms,in view of the current problems of poor realism of water surface fluctuations and complex calculations,it is proposed to model the water surface based on real data.This paper regards the water surface as a dynamic three-dimensional data field,and completes the realization of water surface animation based on real data,and uses the OpenGL graphics programming interface to complete the experimental design.The water surface animation generated based on this method can truly reflect the water wave shape in real life.(2)In this paper,we deeply study the calculation principles of several classic illumination models,analyze their applicable scope through comparative experiments,and improve the Blinn-Phong illumination model according to the characteristics of the water surface,mainly to improve its diffuse reflection calculation.The experiment proves that the improved illumination model is in Under low-light environment,water surface lighting can be simulated more realistically.(3)In order to achieve a more realistic water surface effect,this paper uses UE4 to design and implement water surface details such as water permeability and water surface foam characteristics,and finally complete the realization of realistic water surface animation.In addition,through the analysis and thinking of the experimental process,this article conceives the future research focus and the fields that can be popularized and applied.
