Language is an important symbol to represent and construct the society.With the rise of social media platforms,network buzzwords,as "used by the whole people",are the epitome symbol of contemporary social and cultural changes.They record social changes and serve as an important window to observe people's ideological trends and understand social public opinions.The popular words of variety shows,as a kind of network popular words,can be popular because they are not only related to the current social politics,economy and culture,but also the group behaviors with rich social psychology.Based on this,this paper studies the group psychology of popular words in variety shows,and investigates the formation process,group psychological state and formation motivation behind the generation and dissemination of popular words in variety shows.This paper takes the catchwords in the third season of Chinese Restaurant as the research sample and the dual driving theory of meme theory and group behavior as the theoretical basis to form a research path of "how the catchwords of variety shows spread from individuals to groups--what kind of state the group psychology presents--the motivation to promote the formation of group psychology".The research content is mainly divided into three parts.The first part takes the buzzwords of the third season of Chinese Restaurant as the research object.Through questionnaire survey and in-depth interview,the author explores the characteristics of the users of buzzwords in variety shows and analyzes the expression characteristics and psychological needs of individuals.It is found that individuals hope to gain emotional pleasure,enhance self-identity and achieve social purpose when using catchwords.In the second part,through the analysis of the formation process from individual to group,the group psychology shows convergence,infectivity and suggestibility.The group characteristics of popular words in variety shows include the impulsiveness and extreme of the audience's online participation,the credulity supported by mainstream media and the exaggerated psychology of commercial expression.In the third part,the motivation of the group's use of buzzwords is analyzed from the two approaches of emotion-driven and profit-driven,that is,the stimulation of group emotion,the recognition of individual value by social identification,the need for group support to master the power of discourse and the need to solve some social problems.Through the analysis of the group behavior and group psychological state of the popular words in variety shows,it is found that while the group expression and communication are carried out,there are also problems behind the group polarization to destroy the benign network interaction,the entertainment to death under the cultural industry and the digestion of the meaning of discourse.
