Research On The Alienation Of Algorithm Recommendation From The Perspective Of Technology Philosophy

The arising of Internet has triggered the era of information explosion.As a result,the traditional information distribution and retrieval technology was unable to meet the demand of the deveopment of Internet.Therefore,algorithmic personalized recommendation technology emerged and has been widely applied.On one hand,the algorithm recommendation technology made our life more convenient.On the other hand,the alienation problem caused by this algorithm recommendation technology is gradually emerging.In order to promote the development of algorithm recommendation technology and avoid the negative effects brought by its application,it is urgent to study the alienation problem of algorithm recommendation technology.The alienation of algorithm recommendation technology refers to the fact that human beings,as the subject who obtained information,lost their subject status in the application scenario of algorithm recommendation technology,and dominated by it as an object.The alienation of algorithm recommendation technology is manifested in the impact of the mindset of information consumers,the restriction of cognitive scope,the interference of autonomous decision-making,and the revealing of consumers' privacy.From the perspective of technology alienation theory in philosophy of technology,this paper analyzes the structural characteristics of the algorithm recommendation technology,the alienation manifestations of the algorithm recommendation technology in the application,and three key factors(the user,the technology itself,and the social environment)which caused the alienation of the technology.Then the paper excavates the subjective,the technical and the social root of the alienation of algorithm recommendation technology.In following,this paper also proposes some possible resolutions dealing with the alienation of algorithm recommendation technology.From the perspective of the user,it is necessary to guide users to establish a proper attitude towards technology consumption and improve humanistic literacy in science and technology,while help Internet vendors establish correct technology application values.From the perspective of technology,it is essential to control and intervene the algorithm recommendation technology in combination with its application,improve the evaluation system of algorithm recommendation technology,and put an emphasis on the coordinated development of other related technologies.From the perspective of society,it is necessary to reject narrow utilitarianism,promote the unification of technology,science and humanities,and improve relevant systems and regulations to comprehensively respond.
