Research On Fake News Discourse

At present,the fake news is still the problem of journalism in China even all over the world.Within the Oxford dictionary in 2016,the “post-truth” was described the phenomenon of “eloquence is better than the fact,the position decide wrong or right,the emotion leads choice”.Especially with the development of social media,fake news spread like virus from the 2016 selection in the US to Brexit referendum,from British “container” case to the “covid-19” outbreak.Nowadays,the problem of fake news in the western world has begun to undermine the authority of its media and caused social unrest,while the fake news in China has also begun to spread from traditional media to social media.In this context,it is necessary to give a systematic study on the fake news.Therefore,this paper adopts content analysis and discourse analysis and collects the top ten fake news selected by “the Journalist” from 2010 to 2019 as the research texts.On the one hand,this paper analyzes the text of the top ten fake news of the year from the content level and the discourse level,and finds out some text features of China's fake news: in terms of topic types,it mainly focuses on people's livelihood events and soft news of style and entertainment.In addition,every major social event will be flooded with fake news.In terms of the length of the report,fake news pays more attention to short stories.Firstly,the shorter the text is,the harder it is to find the fake information;secondly,the shorter the news is,the easier it is to spread.In terms of discourse rhetoric,false news is good at sensationalism,which can be found from the use of news headlines and words in the text.Writing techniques are good at setting suspense,usually exaggerating facts,using bad interest,or even fabricating information inconsistent with the text;In terms of news sources,China's fake news sources are single and mostly anonymous,and lack of some necessary news sources.It is worth noting that fake news tends to use network news sources.At the level of news schema structure,it is found through research that the headlines of fake news are obviously longer,and the main events are described with biased words,while the lead language is mostly descriptive,with the story trumping the overview.In the story category,fake news has more of the same characteristics as conventional news.In particular,the description of the main event fits the theme of the overview category and has many supplementary details,but the consequence category reveals more holes than conventional news.News should be the objective creation of news industry based on news facts.Once mixed with any subjective purpose,there is the possibility of producing false news.Therefore,it is still necessary to start from the inside of the industry to regulate the production structure of news and strengthen corresponding verification and accountability measures.
