A Comparative Analysis Of Information Behavior Research In China And The United States Based On Bibliometrics

The development of science and technology has led to the progress of human civilization.Our society has entered the information age.People begin to realize that the value of information plays a pivotal role in the development of individuals,organizations and even the whole society.In the 14 th Five-Year Plan and the proposal for the long-term goal of 2035,China clearly proposed to accelerate the development of the new generation of information technology,ensure national data security,strengthen the protection of personal information,and realize the full coverage of information services.So how to efficiently develop and use information has become a hot topic in this era.In addition to the ever-changing information technology,various information behaviors around information are another important factor that affects the effective use of information and promotes the realization of informatization in China.More and more scholars begin to devote themselves to the research of information behavior,and numerous academic achievements are published in all kind of academic journals every year,and the number of relevant literatures presents an explosive growth.For a long time,the research of information behavior has attracted the attention of different disciplines such as sociology,psychology,information science and communication.Each discipline has adopted different research paths from different perspectives and broadened the research scope of this topic.However,many scholars tend to focus on the new research results,but ignore the summary of the existing research results in this field,and the development of a discipline can not only explore the future,but also review the past,so it is very necessary to comprehensively sort out the research status of information behavior.In this background,this paper summarizes the current research status in the field of information behavior and hot spots,this article is based on the analysis of the literature metrology method by CSSCI,CNKI and WOS collection of research achievements in the field of information behavior as samples to carry on the analysis,seeks to multidimensional to depict the research status in the field of information behavior,through the comparison of China and the United States,in order to objectively reflect the present status of development in this field of research and hot spot,to enter the field of scientific research personnel to provide the reference for the future,but also for the future of our country in the field development plan to provide certain information support.Based on the relevant theories and methods of bibliometrics,this paper aims to make a quantitative analysis of the external indicators of literature from the aspects of time,author,institution,discipline,publication,key words,citation and references.After the time distribution statistics of the target literature,the comprehensive index method is used to measure the core authors,and the social network analysis method is used to deeply study the cooperation among authors,institutions and regions,and identify the core research institutions.Explore the subject distribution and publication distribution of the target literature,and then further determine the main research subjects and core publications in this field;The keywords were studied by word frequency analysis,cluster analysis,emergent word detection and transition analysis,and the research hotspots were discussed by combining the literature co-citation analysis.References were analyzed to obtain highly cited papers in the field of information behavior.Finally,based on the above multi-dimensional combing,relevant conclusions are drawn about the research status and research hotspots in the field of information behavior in China.Then,through comparative analysis of the research progress in China and the United States,reasonable suggestions are put forward for the development of China in the field of information behavior.
