Analysis On Research Hotspots And Trends Of Smart City Based On Bibliometrics And Topic Modeling

Smart city is a good medicine to solve the "urban disease" based on the concepts of digital city,knowledge city,eco-city,learning city,ubiquitous city,intelligent city and so on,which has attracted wide attention of scholars from different fields.At present,there are some problems in the study of smart city,such as vague definition,complicated technologies,the lack of case summary and potential topic research.This thesis will solve the above problems by the statistical analysis of 1,626 smart city field articles published between 1998 and 2017.Firstly,this thesis analyses the research present situation of smart city field by bibliometric method;secondly,this thesis studies the spatial-temporal evolution of smart city: the evolution of concepts and technologies for time dimension,the global distribution of cases for space dimension;lastly,this thesis studies the potential topics and hotspots in smart city field by the LDA topic model method and gives the forecast of future smart city.The results show that:(1)the relevant concepts of smart cities have gradually evolved from “digital city” to “knowledge city” and “ubiquitous city”,which have been replaced by “smart city” and “sustainable city” in recent years;(2)the key technologies of smart city are: Internet of Things(IoT),big data,modeling,Wireless Sensor Network(WSN),Information and Communication Technology(ICT),monitoring,algorithm,Sensor Network,Geographic Information System(GIS)and cloud computing,among these technologies,cloud computing has the greatest development potential;(3)the number of case study articles in smart cities field is much smaller than the number of pilot cities,Asia will be the largest market of smart city construction in the future;(4)the potential topics of smart city are: “Digital city and digital technology”,“City model and city project”,“Infrastructure construction,service and management”,“Knowledge economy and low carbon economy”,“Algorithm research and application”.The future smart city researchs will pay more attention to the infrastructures rehabilitation,smart upgrade of traditional industries and the global promotion of smart city cases.
