How to avoid the phenomenon of information attenuation of scientific and technological terms in the process of information dissemination is an important research topic that has long been concerned by information theory,cybernetics,and system theory;The development of new media technology and the rise of the network society have profoundly changed many aspects of science communication:Its dissemination content is becoming more diversified,its presentation methods are richer,and its dissemination channels are more diversified.At the same time,in the process of mass communication,scientific and technological terms are limited by factors such as the de-bureaucratization of the communication subject,the pan-entertainment of the communication content,the diversification of communication channels,and the discretization of communication audiences,there has been an increasingly serious phenomenon of information attenuation.In the new media environment,considering the popularization of scientific knowledge and the fidelity of scientific information has become an urgent problem to be solved in science communication.This research selects the concept of "artificial intelligence " as a research case of scientific and technological terminology communication,and uses the WeChat as the main research perspective of mass communication.Mainly use methods such as content analysis method,questionnaire survey method and entropy method to systematically study the information attenuation phenomenon of the concept of "artificial intelligence" in the process of mass communication,explore the reasons for the information attenuation phenomenon of scientific and technological terms in the process of mass communication,and analyze the dimension and degree of attenuation,and the entropy method is used to construct an information attenuation measurement model.The main conclusions of the study are:(1)The operational definition of the concept of"artificial intelligence" can be divided into five different dimensions:theoretical research,Image building,technology application,industry development,moral and ethical;(2)When the audience's understanding of "artificial intelligence" is not high,the information attenuation in the image building dimension is low,and the information attenuation in other dimensions is high;as the understanding of "artificial intelligence" continues to deepen,the technology application,theoretical research,moral and ethical and other dimensions of information attenuation will be relatively reduced;(3)The audience has the highest degree of awareness in the technology application dimension,and it is easier to understand the information on the image building dimension;(4)Use the entropy method to establish an evaluation index system for the degree of information attenuation,test the degree of attenuation of information in terms of receiving channels,presentation methods,and receiving content.Research finding,the order of the factors that affect the degree of information attenuation from large to small is:information presentation method,user acceptance content,and information dissemination channel.The research further proposes to establish the authority of the communication subject,strengthen the professional knowledge of the content producers,identify the communication positioning,effectively carry out the communication by channels,consider the popularity and professionalism,expand the scientific and technological information dissemination content,and other countermeasures to improve the quality and effect of scientific communication.
