With the continuous development of chemical technology, the treatment of chemical raw materials and chemical waste has become an important factor affecting the environment.Industrial raw materials and excreted wastes are generally toxic special gases, such as formaldehyde, nitrogen, ammonia and so on,which will cause destructive effects on human beings and the environment after long-term exposure. The detection of harmful gas has become an important target of research in recent years. The existing technology can detect the concentration and composition of gas,but there are still some disadvantages in the sensitivity, which need to be further improved and improved. It is very important to improve the sensitivity of detection technology in the detection.Surface Plasmon Resonance(SPR)technology has been relatively widely used in recent years. It is a new type of sensing technology with advantages. It has the characteristics of no labeling and high sensitivity. It is used in biological detection and environmental detection. The field has been widely used, and it has also been applied in the medical field.Magneto-Optic Surface Plasmon Resonance(MOSPR)is based on surface plasmon resonance technology, adding an external magnetic field to simultaneously excite surface plasmon resonance and magneto-optical effects.Compared with SPR,MOSPR has better sensitivity, resolution and linearity.Through the three-layer film MOSPR structure model, using multi-physics finite element simulation, the finite element simulation calculation of the different thicknesses of Ag,Co,and Ag in the three-layer film structure were carried out to calculate the optimal thickness of the structure. The gas sensitivity characteristics of ethanol, ammonia, methane, nitrogen dioxide, and formaldehyde were analyzed and studied in detail using MOSPR based on Ag/Co/Ag structure, and compared with the gas sensitivity characteristics of SPR with Ag film structure. The sensitivity, resolution and linearity of MOSPR are improved. The results show that MOSPR has better gas sensing characteristics than traditional SPR.
