With the rapid development of modern science and technology,computers representing digital technology have been widely used in various fields.VDT is the abbreviation of Visual Display Terminal,which refers to the video display terminal of electronic equipment such as computers,tablet computers,mobile phones,and video game consoles etc.With the increasing popularity of VDT,some problems have arisen,such as computer vision syndrome(CVS).It refers to vision and eye symptoms caused by long-term viewing of electronic screens.Visual fatigue is the main symptom of CVS.To protect the eyes,computers,tablets,mobile phones and other electronic display devices have introduced various eye protection methods,such as:reducing the screen brightness,filtering blue light(changing the color temperature of the screen),inverting the screen color mode(changing the traditional light mode(black texts on white background)to the dark mode(white texts on black background),reducing the luminance contrast of text/background(by changing the text/background color).It is necessary to study visual fatigue under different eye protection modes.This paper adopted the literature method,research method,and experimental method to carry out scientific research and analysis on the visual fatigue under different eye protection methods and eye protection parameter settings.And we obtained the eye protection model design parameters which are most conducive to visual comfort.The conclusions can provide guidance for the design of eye protection mode,eye protection software and interactive interface for electronic display devices such as computers,tablets,and mobile phones.The main contents are as follows:First:discuss the topic background of the paper and the domestic and foreign research status of visual fatigue in various disciplines,and clarify the research purpose,significance,content,research framework and research ideas of the paper.Second:use the questionnaire method to investigate the user's VDT work habits(working hours,light environment,interval breaks,eye symptoms),and the use habits and feelings of the eye protection mode.Third:use experimental methods to study the effect of different color temperature settings(different eye protection percentages)of eye protection mode on visual fatigue in normal office lighting during the day and dark environment at night,and obtain the best color temperature settings under different environmental illuminance to guide the design.Fourth:use experimental methods to study the effect of different color modes on visual fatigue in normal office lighting during the day and dark environment at night,to find out which color mode design is most conductive to visual comfort under different environmental illuminance.Fifth:use the experimental method to further study the influence of text/background luminance contrast on visual fatigue in a dark environment after the lights are turned off at night,as well as the interaction of color mode and luminance contrast.It aims to obtain the best text/background luminance contrast of the interactive interface,and then guide the design of different applications(APP),software,and interfaces.Sixth:summarize eye-protection mode interface design references and provide specific screen display setting parameters.Seven:summarize the research results,innovation points,disadvantages of this article.This paper integrates the fields of medicine(ophthalmology),ergonomics(human factors engineering)and interaction design,and conducts basic design research.It aims to obtain the design reference and specific parameter settings of the display interface which are most conducive to visual comfort and to guide the design of eye protection modes,eye protection software and interactive interfaces for different electronic display devices.It has practical significance in reducing visual fatigue caused by viewing electronic screens.
