The Research Of Color Mode Conversion In The Image Processing Software Named HighImage

Color mode conversion is an important part of image processing software, which comprises two parts that are converting color mode and obtaining color information of current focus in the image, In order to apprehend the effect of color mode conversion better, color management theory is emphasized in this paper, and the function of color mode conversion is compared with that of color management. Converting color mode is the function that transforms image from one color mode to another color mode, and as possible as keeps data of the image consistency. But color conversion is the function that maps image from one equipment color space to another, and as possible as keeps colors of image uniform. More important difference between color mode conversion and color management is that the former can modify data of image in the memory, but the latter does not. As a result, converting color mode directly affects processing speed of image processing software especially for a large image. This paper is mainly to analyze, design and realize the function of color mode conversion in our large image processing software named HighImage.
