Solid state storage,especially based on NAND Flash,are widely used in aviation and aerospace for their high density,high read/write speed,and anti-vibration character.However,single SSD is limited by capacity,and poor in reliability.At the same time,with the progress of the manufacturing tecnology,the volume of single flash chip increases further,but the Bit Error Rate also increases.For such problems,this paper,from the perspective of improving performance and reliability,carries out research on the key technologies of solid state storage blade.This research presents a architect of a redundant fault-tolerant solid-state storage blade,which is mainly composed of host processor,RAID controller and SSDs.The host processor in the storage module can reduce the load of the processor accessing the storage,and we also can take advantage of its powerful processing ability and integrated high-speed interface.RAID control logic,based on SSD,is divided into two layers: The upper layer RAID controller is responsible for implementing the RAID strategy;the lower layer flash array controller realize the function of Flash Translation Layer(FTL).Based on such architect,this paper presents the hardware design of a solid-state storage blade based on FT-1500a-16 processor,including the processor part,storage part,peripheral interface and power supply module.For such blade,we build a test platform.The test results show that the solid-state storage blade can realize high-speed data transmition and also improve the reliability of data storage.
