A Roadmap for US Robotics from Internet to Robotics has predicted that robotics will be a technology that will have a revolutionary impact on the future of humanity,potentially spreading to every corner of the world for decades like the development of the computer.The development of technology has enabled the autonomous or semi-autonomous movement of robots.Since the human mind naturally sees dynamic objects as "Animacy",people spontaneously map personality traits onto dynamic robots.The emergence of this phenomenon led to the introduction of the concept of Personality of Robot(POR)into HRI design.Just like the role of personality on human beings,the robot personality provides a consistent interpretation of the robot's actions and reaction.Personality has relative stability,which helps to form a proper way of getting along with humans and robots.Properly embodied robot personality will help to increase human acceptance of robots,which is reflected in enhancing human-robot interaction intentions,user participation input in human-robot interaction process,positive emotional stimulation,etc.On the contrary,an inappropriate robot personality will destroy the human-robot relationship and bring negative feelings.Due to robots are not living creatures,research and setting appropriate robot personality and precise expression of robot personality rely on the participation of design researchers.The main body of this robot personality research is limited to functional,tool,proximate interaction domestic service robot.This paper uses the method of experiment and simulation to find out whether the topic of this papar is necessity.We controll the interaction scenarios and the movement of robot to test the different ways of HRI which are used as experimental samples.To find out if the emotional stimulation could enhance the user experience.Result proves the meaning and necessity of the topic that the emotional stimulation could be put onto this type of robot.The subsequent process of personality research is mainly divided into two parts: personality setting research and personality expression research.In the phase of personality setting research,through the interdisciplinary research method and the literature research method,the current status of robot personality research is deeply understood and the big five personality theory in personality theory is selected as the theoretical basis to make the robot Personality Questionnaire.Furthermore,this paper collects and analyzes 85 users' data qualitatively through questionnaire survey,household observation and face-to-face interview.The results are extroversion(3.270),agreeableness(3.693),conscientiousness(4.360),neuroticism(2.070),and openness(3.425).The rigorous personality and its subitems like organized,competent,prudent,etc.obtained higher user preference.The phase of the personality expression research process adopts a research method combining literature research and business design case analysis.Commercial design cases select representative and successful companies and products in the field of personality.The product types are mobile virtual assistant,smart speaker,and car virtual assistant.According to the research results,the construction of the personality design system includes three parts: image design,function design,and global design,and draws a reusable interactive design board for the personality expression of domestic service robots.The research output also includes refining design principles and constructing a design evaluation system.Finally,based on the data results of the personality setting research and personality expression design system,the personality image design of the home service robot includes the design of the auditory image of the robot and the visual image design of the user interface had been operated so did the design verification,which effectively improves HRI level and user satisfaction.This paper provides theoretical support and design case verification for the whole process of the personality of functional-tool-proximate interaction domestic service robot.The necessity of emotional design of this type of robot personality is determined,the research method of personality setting based on the Big Five personality theory is constructed,the personality design expression system and the principles and indicators of design evaluation are constructed as well.This provides a full-process guidance method for the design of personalized emotional interaction of domestic service robots.
