In the 1930 s,Chinese movies entered a brief prosperity period,the media environment of Stars became more and more complicated,and the star image in the media text became one of the most important ones besides the screen image.The star image construction and consumption of "time movie" magazine has its unique cultural value and has certain influence in Shanghai in the 1930 s.Based on the theory of star image,this paper divides the study of Star Image of time movie magazine into the cultural process of "constructing the image as a consumption".Before studying the star image construction and consumption of "time movie" magazine,it is necessary for us to put it in the historical dimension to study the cultural context.First of all,the rise of Shanghai's urban culture has created a good atmosphere for the star image construction of "Time Movie" magazine.Second,in the commercial operation of Chinese films,the Mechanism of the film industry tends to mature,the institutionalization of star production has put forward an urgent demand for the construction of star image in "Time Movie" magazine.Once again,China's publishing industry has been developing vigorously during this period,especially in Shanghai,and a large-scale publishing tide has formed,for the "time film" magazine to establish a certain basis.As a result,"time movie" magazine uses the Star role image,the private image,the commercial image three paths to construct the more comprehensive star image together.The star image constructed by the magazine includes three layers: body image,temperament image and symbol image.In the end,the consumption and identification of the star image of the readers to a certain extent affected the construction of the star image.In fact,the construction and consumption of the star image of "Time Movie" magazine is the collusion of the editors and the readers,whether it is the construction of the star image by the editors or the consumption and approval of the public,the whole field of star image is the field of different groups conspire.In this field,different social groups are fighting for the right to speak,while readers participate actively through the image of consumption stars.We can not ignore the high attitude of "Time Movie" Magazine's Star Image Construction and consumption to the public,precisely because the first editor-in-chief periodof the magazine was more serious than lively,focusing on the character image of the Star but ignoring the personal image of the star,to a certain extent,caused the magazine to Stop Publishing and republishing.The aesthetic separation between the editors and the public leads to the change from high-end orientation to popular style in the construction and consumption of the star image of time movie magazine.However,the cultural pursuit of the star image construction and consumption of "time movie" has influenced the development of Shanghai movie magazine to a certain extent.It is a pity that such a unique publication has been seldom mentioned for quite a long time.Therefore,the study of the Star Image of "Time Movie" magazine can not only provide important reference for the study of film magazines in the Republic of China,but also bring important enlightenment to re-examine the star culture in our country.
