Research On The Strategic Transformation Of BOE

BOE(BOE Technology Group Co.,Ltd.)is the leading enterprises in China's display field.The birth of BOE has completely broken the situation that display devices are monopolized by Japanese and Korean enterprises.It can be said that BOE has saved the entire display industry and brought the display industry into a new era of comprehensive competition.In 1993,Beijing Oriental stood out from its original tube factory.Several young people with ideals raised enough funds and with the determination of industry to reward the country,set up BOE by their own portal,and made it move forward on the road of display devices hardly.Then in 2002,the first TFT-LCD production line was acquired,and since then,BOE has undergone a thorough transformation and is on the right track.In the following 10 years,BOE continued to break through,with China's first 5-generation line production followed by 6-band and 8.5band production,and then the world's first 10.5-generation TFT-LCD line advance production in 2017 under BOE continuously striving.In 2017,BOE ranked first in the five traditional display areas.However,with the continuous development of the times,TFT-LCD display industry has reached the bottleneck of technological development.In order to meet the needs of the development of Internet of Things,BOE has expanded Interface Devices to Smart IoT Systems and Smart Medicine?Engineering Integration.How can BOE take advantage of the opportunity to develop its business beyond Interface Devices and realize its vision of becoming the most respected great enterprise on the earth.Its development strategy needs to be transformed according to the progress of the times and technology.How to carry out the transformation strategy and how to formulate the direction of the strategy are all worth studying.This paper first describes the general process of transformation of group enterprises,and then as a case,analyses the background of the times in which BOE is currently located and its internal environment,including the background of the times in which it is now located,the economic background,the national policies,and the advantages and disadvantages within BOE.Then the SWOT strategy theory is applied to analyze its advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and challenges.This paper discusses the selection of the transformation strategy of BOE and puts forward some suggestions for continuing the strategic transformation.Hopefully,this study can provide a direction for the overall layout transformation of the Internet of Things in BOE and give some theoretical support from all angles.At the same time,it provides certain strategic guidance for other TFT-LCD enterprises,and provides theoretical support for subsequent enterprise development.Moreover,through the application of strategic research theory,it provides the enterprise model and experience for the further development of theoretical tools.
