With the continuous advancement and development of the Internet of Things, smart devices have gradually pervaded our daily life. The smart devices have been exploded in popularity and widely employed by people for providing more convenient social experiences in various social areas.Different from the traditional wearable devices, which have to be connected to the mobile phones before being used, the current wearable devices can be used independent of other devices with the maturity of technologies. However,in such situation, the security of the wireless communication between wearable devices is becoming our main concern.Establishing secure communication channels between smart wearable devices mainly relies on encryption keys from multiple parties, and the generation methods of the encryption keys depend on the common information shared by both parties. One of the main methods is based on the Received Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI),which generates a symmetric key to encrypt the wireless communication channels based on the feature that signals received at different distances having different strength indicators. And the shortcomings of this method are: 1)it can only be applied to wireless devices that frequently exchanging information,and2)it is not suitable for scenarios in which data is exchanged at one time.Another common method generates the encryption keys by exploiting the acceleration sensor information collected by the device. As the devices are usually closed to the user's body when in use,it is easily to obtain unique information of the user. And the current researches are mainly focus on different devices worn by the same person, and they cannot solve the key generation problem between devices worn by different users. This paper proposes a novel solution for the secure data exchange between devices worn by different users. This method ensures the secure transmission of information through the handshake between users.Although the devices are worn by different users, the motion signals generated by the shaking of the two hands participating in the handshake are very similar. So that we use this motion signal to generate a symmetric key between the corresponding devices to protect the privacy of the wireless communication channel. We systematically evaluated the method, and the experimental results show that the proposed method can generate reliable high-quality keys with the length of the handshake time less than two seconds, and the protected wireless communication channels can effectively resist attacks from illegal users. At the same time, the method can run in real time on a smart watch with very little power consumption.
