With the progress of society and the development of science and technology,the application scenarios are gradually diversified.People need more high-performance antennas with automatic beam tracking ability and certain stealth ability to achieve more functions.Van Atta array is a kind of retrodirective array.It has retrodirective characteristics and can also control the radar cross section.It can improve stealth performance under the premise of ensuring working performance.However,if the angle between the incoming wave direction and the array is too large,the retrospective wave cannot be accurately transmitted in the direction of the incident wave,and the performance drops sharply.Therefore,the retrodirective angle is one of the important performance indicators.The wide retrodirective angle can not only realize the retrodirective characteristics in a larger range,but also effectively broaden the control range of the radar scattering cross section,and obtain better stealth effect.In view of this situation,this thesis has carried out the research of Van Atta array with wide retrodirective angle,three methods of radar cross section control based on different technologies are discussed.A wide-angle Van Atta antenna array with a PIN diode is designed.The array has the ability to adjust the radar cross section while achieving the retrodirective characteristic in a wider angle range.The main contents are as follows:First of all,this thesis expounds the research background and significance of Van Atta array,traces its development history,and summarizes the application research field at home and abroad.Then the basic concept and implementation form of the retrodirective array are briefly introduced,and the working principle of the Van Atta array is analyzed in detail.The theory of passive and active Van Atta array is studied,including linear and planar array.The monostatic and bistatic RCS formulas of the Van Atta array are derived and analyzed.The influence of wide angle on the main parameters of the array is discussed.All the work lays a theoretical foundation for the design of the Van Atta array with wide retrodirective angle.Secondly,it introduces three wide-angle Van Atta antenna arrays with the ability of control RCS,which are based on RF switch technology,phase cancellation technology and deviation from fixed angle technology.For RF switch technology,related theories are introduced.Then takes a PIN diode as an example to simulate three circuit forms of SPDT.For the phase cancellation technology,the best phase adding method of unidirectional and bidirectional array is analyzed,and it is extended from linear array to plane array.For deviation from a fixed angle,through the theoretical derivation and simulation verification,the regulation effect on RCS is confirmed,which provides theoretical basis for array design.Finally,in combination with the research on wide retrodirective angle characteristics and the PIN diode,a wide-angle Van Atta array with PIN diode loaded is designed.The design scheme and expected indexes of the system are described in detail,and the modules of antenna,circuit and control signal are introduced in modules.The simulation results and physical test are combined to ensure the performance of each module.Finally,the modules are combined into a system and tested as a whole to reach a conclusion.
