This paper focuses on the design and research of microwave waveguides.Combined with the concept of spoof surface plasmon polariton,four new spoof surface plasmon polariton waveguides are analyzed and designed on the basis of coplanar waveguide,substrate integrated waveguide and microstrip line.While realizing high performance,the requirements of miniaturization are considered.The work of this paper are as follows:1.A waveguide with anchored-shaped units based on the concept of SSPPs is proposed and analyzed.Compared with other ordinary corrugated unit structures,the anchored-shaped structure can obtain lower asymptotic frequency,which means strong field confinements.The results show that in the frequency range of 1 GHz to 6.5 GHz,the insertion loss is less than 3 dB,the return loss is more than 10 dB,and the performance of the waveguide is good.2.A new substrate integrated spoof surface plasmon polariton waveguide(SIPW)and its application in microwave band-pass filter are proposed.The simulation results show that the low cut-off frequency and the high asymptotic frequency of SIPW are mainly determined by the distance between two rows of vias and the length of rectangular groove.The experimental results show that the three designed microwave band-pass filters have low insertion loss,high return loss and fast attenuation in the range of 7.5-13.0 GHz,9.2-13.0 GHz and 7.5-10.5 GHz,respectively.Under the same principle,a bandpass filter with meandered grooves based on SIPW concept is proposed and analyzed.It has good filtering performance in the range of 7-12 GHz.3.A novel spoof surface plasmon polariton(SSPP)waveguide based on cross fractal units(CFUs)and its application in microwave splitter are proposed.The results show that the SSPP waveguide is a broadband low-pass plasmon filter with steep attenuation in the passband of 0.8-4.2 GHz,and S21 is higher than-1dB,S11 is lower than-10dB.The Wilkinson splitter has excellent performance of low insertion loss(S21,S31>-4dB)and high reflection loss(S11,S22,S33<-10dB)in the passband of 1.5-4.2 GHz.4.In this paper,a new type of SSPP waveguide is proposed.By loading the twisted units with periodic arrangement on the metal strip,the SSPPs can transmit efficiently and strongly.Compared with the traditional plasmon waveguide with rectangular units,the dispersion relationship of the proposed waveguide shows a unique negative group velocity characteristic and reduces the asymptotic frequency by nearly half,which has the advantages of stronger microwave SPPs confinements and miniaturization.Besides,a plane plasmon notch filter loaded with SRR based on twisted units is designed.The reflection coefficient of the filter at notch frequency(2.52 GHz)is-18 dB,which has a high ability of SPPs suppression.Finally,according to the characteristics of the filter,a diode is loaded on the SRR,and a switch is designed to control the notch frequency of the filter.The proposed waveguide,filter,splitter and notch filter have simple structure,strong flexibility and easy integration,and have great application potential in the ultracompact microwave integrated circuits and systems...
