The outbreak of Wukan Protests in Sept.2011attracted the attention of many domestic and foreign media to report about it, especially China's mainland and Hong Kong ones. This thesis has selected1.175articles about Wukan Protests on Mainland newspapers and Hong Kong counterparts form Sept.21th,2011to Dec.15th,2012, and analyzed the differentiated media presenting between two sides to answer questions including:How Mainland newspapers and Hong Kong ones present Wukan Protests? What leads to the difference of media presenting about the same incident?This research takes advantage of encoding statistics and comparative analysis to show the differences of media presenting between two sides by the means of topic life cycle, news subject, source of information and attitude of report. Meanwhile, it also delves into the cause of the differentiated media presenting. Different cognitive frames, different social systems and the interaction of different sources of information result in different news texts and meaning construction produced by different media.
