In 2019,the Ministry of Education promulgated the “Opinions on Strengthening and Improving Experimental Teaching in Primary and Secondary Schools”.This“ Opinions ” pointed out that educators should actively innovate chemical experiments.In addition,the cutting-edge knowledge of science and technology and scientific research achievements are infiltrated into experimental teaching,to enrich teaching content,optimize teaching methods,and cultivate students’ innovative spirit and core literacy.The "Chemistry Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education"(2022 edition)emphasized that teachers should understand the value of chemical experiments and actively carry out scientific inquiry and practical activities in teaching suggestions.Chemical experiments play an extremely significant role in the comprehensive development of students’ core literacy,and the status of chemical experiment in teaching is also becoming more and more important.Firstly,this study surveyed the present situation of thermal changes in middle school chemistry teaching and a literature survey of infrared thermal imaging technology.Secondly,based on the chemical experiments with thermal changes in the middle school(mainly the compulsory education stage),the infrared thermal imaging technology was integrated with the traditional chemical experiments,and the author design based on the infrared thermal imaging technology was developed.Then the results were designed as two teaching cases of providing materials for teaching and constructing new cognitive models.Finally,those teaching cases that provide teaching materials were put into practice,and the evaluation was carried out through three methods: examination questions,questionnaires,and interviews.The study show that by combining infrared thermal imaging technology with traditional chemical experiments,thre kinds of experimental results have been obtained,including infrared thermal imaging technology experiments,infrared thermal imaging pictures,and infrared thermal imaging videos,which enriched the teaching materials.The way of presenting chemical thermal effects with infrared thermal imaging technology could help students memorize associated chemical knowledge;Using infrared thermal imaging technology in chemistry teaching could not only develop students’ level of scientific inquiry ability but also promote students’ interest in learning chemistry,and enhance their willingness to continue learning chemistry.The researchbased on infrared thermal imaging technology experiments provided ideas and methods for the development of chemical experiments,and has a certain reference value for the integration of other technologies with chemical experiments in the future.
