The report of the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China has clearly pointed out: we must take fostering integrity and promoting rounded development of people as the fundamental task of education,and train participants of and successors to the socialist cause who develop morally,intellectually,physically and aesthetically.Thus it can be seen that moral education is placed both at an essential position both in the current situation of China’s education reform and the promulgation of relevant education policies.In the Guide to Moral Education in Elementary and Middle Schools promulgated by the Ministry of Education of China in 2017,it is clearly stated that it is necessary to give play to the main channel function of classroom teaching,refining the connotation of moral education in primary and secondary schools into the educational goals of various fields of curriculum.This has shown that moral education of discipline is an essential measure to the promotion in the process of moral education.Mathematics,as the nucleus curriculum of the fundamental education,its more important aim is to lay the basis for the lifelong development of the students and to facilitate their comprehensive development.Mathematics is a discipline with rich moral education value,therefore,it is of great significance to organically integrate the teaching content of mathematics with the students’ moral education."Circle" is an important content in the field of "graphics and geometry" in primary school mathematics,and the mathematical culture contained in it has provided rich materials for the penetration of moral education.This research selects the content of "circle" for action research on the integration of moral education into mathematics teaching,with the aim of studying problems in three aspects: First,what are the moral education elements in the "circle" content of the textbook? Second,how to better infiltrate moral education into the teaching of "circle" and develop relevant teaching cases? Third,what kind of impact will the infiltration of moral education into the teaching of "circle" have on students?Based on the analysis of textbooks,instructional design and practice,feedbacks from the questionnaire and interview results,the data is collated and analyzed,conclusions are drawn in the following:(1)The moral education elements of the "circle" content in the textbook mainly include six aspects: patriotism,quality of learning,scientific spirit,collective spirit,ecological civilization and aesthetic ability;the moral education elements in the "circle" content of different textbooks are not much different,among them,patriotism is the most important moral education element.(2)Three "circle" content moral education lessons of discipline are developed and practiced.Understanding of the Circle carries out patriotism and aesthetic ability education mainly through both the appreciation of the circle in China’s ceramics and architectural culture,and the interpretation of the historical sayings of the circle;Circumference of the Circle and Area of the Circle carry out patriotic and scientific spirit education mainly through the understanding of China’s classic mathematical works,as well as through feeling the mathematicians’ unremitting exploration of pi and pi area.All three cases are taught through the model of group cooperative research to carry out education in the quality of learning and the collective spirit.(3)Infiltration of moral education in the teaching of "circle" has 4 aspects of impact on students: it corrects students’ attitudes towards moral education;it promotes students’ learning of the knowledge in curriculum;it deepens students’ understanding on the materials of moral education;and it cultivates students’ positive emotions.Based on the teaching practice and research conclusions,the following advice are provided:(1)enrich moral education materials to help the implementation of moral education in mathematics;(2)study teaching materials with heart to excavate the moral education content of mathematics;(3)take advantage of the mathematical culture to deepen the implementation of moral education in mathematics;(4)practice group cooperation to enrich the teaching mode of moral education in disciplines;(5)seize the opportunity of penetration to strengthen the moral education and resourcefulness of mathematics.
